Remarks
The admissions are entrance based. You have to qualify for Jee Main to get admission in this course. Students must visit hstes.org.in on a regular basis for information on application forms and application deadlines. Process is very smooth in this college. There are 3 rounds to get your desired branch. Even if you are not getting a chance in these rounds, some more rounds are going to be conducted by the university to fill the vacant seats. If you are someone who has a low score in JEE mains and still wants a promising college which provides good placement offers, then just go for it. You are not going to regret this decision. If you are a SC category student with an income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh, then you are not going to pay a single penny for tuition fees.
Course Curriculum Overview
If you are interested in technology, then the IT/CS branch at J.C. Bose University is for you. There are sufficient teachers for each course, i.e., a minimum of 10 teachers per course. I am much impressed by the qualifications of the teachers. All of them are Ph.D. students. You are going to see Dr. Tag in front of every teacher in this university. The teaching methods of teachers are awesome; they are very friendly and strict at the same time. Here, 3 sessional exams are being conducted for the evaluation of students' progress, and per semester one exam is conducted. If you study for 7 days before exams, then you are going to get a 7+ CGPA.
Internships Opportunities
Some big companies like Amazon, Adobe, and Flipkart offer student internship opportunities with a stipend of 10k to 20k per month, but some more companies offer internship offers to students paid and unpaid. If you are a student with great programming skills, then you will easily get an internship offer from this college. For every semester students have to make one project so if you are really dedicated toward these projects then under guidance of mentor teacher you can get a great opportunity of internship.
Placement Experience
This college is only famous for its placement offers. There is nothing more you are going to get from this college but a good job if you are studying in the IT or CS branch. Students in the 5th semester are being offered internship offers and, till the end of the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. If I talk about my course, some big companies come here like Amazon, Samsung, Adobe, Honda, TCS, and many more. If you are an average student, then you are easily going to get a job offer of 6 LPA and if you are a student with sharp skills, then 30 LPA is waiting for you. Last year, Amazon offered 30 LPA to a student in the IT branch for a software engineer position. There are 90% chances of students getting placed because there are many companies that visit to hire students, but if you are a student of a non-technical branch, then the percentage of students placed is approx. 50 to 60%. My plan after getting a degree is as simple as any other student; I want to get placed in a company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of the information technology branch is: tuition fee = 27895 RS per semester, development fee = 6000 RS per semester, exam fee is 1500 RS per semester, and some more fees are there, so approx 49000 RS a student is going to pay for a semester. Scholarships for Sc or BC students: PMS (Post Matric Scholarship): If you are a student in the Sc category with a family income of less than 2.5 lakh, then you are going to get a PMS scholarship. This student gets full tuition fee concession. If you are a Kashmiri migrant, then you are also going to benefit from PMS. If you are a student whose father has died, then you will also get sufficient financial assistance to complete your education gracefully. This college is well-known for its high job placement rates, with approximately 250 companies coming to recruit students. If you are studying in the IT/CS branch, you can expect to earn a minimum of 6 lakh and a maximum of 30 lakh based on your skills.
Campus Life
This is the corner where this college lost its brilliance. There is an annual fest reizo for freshers students but this has not happened for the last 3 years. However, some exciting fests, such as the UCC tech fests, are quite impressive because they provide students with a good experience of tech games and entertainment. This college's library faculty is subpar; there is a small room called the library that is much noisier than outside of college. Labs are quite cool because of the AC, but in the summer, classrooms are much more like suffocation camps because they become very hot. There are many cultural clubs and tech clubs, which provides students a good exposure of social activities, if you are having interest in singing , dancing ,yoga , art , coding then there exists every club for respective activities.
Hostel Facilities
Due to its small size, this university provides hostel facilities only for first year students, but if you are a girl, you are going to get a college for the whole course duration. The gate closing timing of the hostel for boys is 10pm, but for girls it is 6:54pm. That is quite unequal. In a hostel room, you get a small-sized bed and an almirah in bad condition. Nothing more is going to get you in hostel rooms. They provide a students' mess facility for three times a day. The quality of their mess food is quite good. Their meal menu is a nice, balanced diet offered to students. You will pay 50 Rs for each meal, i.e., approximately 4500 Rs per month. If you are a student of 2nd , 3rd and 4th year then you are gonna suffer for searching of flats or pgs. because here people refuse to give their flats for bachelors and pg are very bad for food quality then you are gonna suffer for rest of your 3 years .
