GMRIT offers a four-year Bachelor's in Technology (B.Tech.) program in eight disciplines. Students are admitted on the basis of merit in EAMCET. Students are admitted on the basis of merit scores of GATE/PGCET through the common window of counseling for category 'A' seats or category 'B' seats. M.Tech. program/courses are offered with the following specializations: Transportation Engineering Computer science & Engineering Digital Electronics & Communication Systems VLSI Design — Second Shift Power and Industrial Drives Mechanical — CAD / CAM Environmental Engineering

GMRIT hostels were built in 1998. Providing separate accommodation for men and women, the present strength of the residential community is 1000 +. The two hostels are headed by the Administrative Officer whose keen observation and guidance enable the staff to discharge their duties effectively, while continuously maintaining discipline among the residents. Women's Hostel The women's hostel has two blocks "Nagavali" and "Vamsadhara" with a capacity to accommodate 444 students. Men's Hostel The men's hostel has five blocks "Vindhya", "Satpura" "Aravali" "Nilgiri" and "Himalaya" with a capacity to accommodate 1263 students.
