A wonderful university to be with an awesome student environment

YMCAUST's students and faculty are what that distinguishes it from other universities and due to which it is consistently ranked very high. Although we have a 14 acre campus only hence due to physical constraints of the boundary walls it is now being expanded vertically to meet the requirements of todays world and empowering its students to perform very well in the outside world. It is simply the best university in Haryana.

Admission to YMCAUST Faridabad is done on the basis of rank obtained in JEE MAINS Examination and admission process is conducted by HSTES (Haryana State Technical Edcation Society). I chose this university over some of the faraway NITs because it is the second best university in Haryana after NIT Kurukshetra and that it has an amazing faculty and student culture.

The course curriculum at YMCAUST has been very well designed in accordance with industrial needs however there still remains a scope of improvement which could be achieved by giving more emphasis on practical knowledge in addition to theoretical knowledge.

YMCAUST does provide internship to students in sixth and seventh semester depending on the branch of the candidates. Although students intern in different companies , the average stipend would be something round 6000 to 8000 INR while the top stipends go as high as 30,000 INR.

Some 30-40 companies visit for recruitments with around 90 to 100% students getting placed. The average package stands at around 4 lakhs per annum while the highest goes somewhere around lakhs per annum. Some of the major recruiters are TCS(3.3-3.6 LPA) , Cognizant(3.5 LPA), Maruti Suzuki(6 LPA), Adobe(8 LPA), Samsung(8 LPA), Amazon(around 12-13 LPA), Yamaha, Smartprix, Newgen, Daikin etc.

The annual fest of YMCAUST is called ELEMENTS CULMYCA which is quite popular in north India. Students and the co-ordinating faculties put in a great deal of time and effort to make the fest a success. The fest is celebrated in the month of march and lasts for 3 days and 2 nights. All the student clubs organize around half a dozen events. The center of attraction of the fest is STAR NIGHT and DJ night wherein famous DJs and singers are invited,

Fee structure is very feasible with the entire fee being around 2.5 lakhs for all the 4 years of engineering. The tuition fee for engineering is around 30,000 for each semester while the hostel fee is 6,000 for the entire year and mess charges cost around 3,000 a month. The fee can be deposited online or offline in the bank situated within the University's premises.

There are tons of scholarships for students belonging to the under priviledged sections of society offered by many companies which are notified on the university's website as well as on the notice boards. The eligible students can download the forms- get them filled and submit them in the academic department in order to avail the scholarship.

Campus life at YMCAUST is quite vibrant mainly due to a number of student clubs present where each student may choose a club that meets his/her interests. Clubs for debates, dramatics, singing, western dance, punjabi (bhangra) dance, management clubs, chemistry clubs, computer club, electronics club, mechanical club, art and crafts club, photography club make the atmosphere quite good. These clubs regularly organize open knowledge sharing sessions and competitions for engaging and motivating students.

There are enough hostels for both boys and girls (especially girls) with an average of 3 students residing in a room. There are facilities like gyms, clean washrooms, common room with TV, small gardens in hostels, geysers in washrooms, separate study tables and beds for each student in room. note: There are no 'single rooms' and no option of AC room although you may install your own coolers by paying a nominal charge of Rs. 500 a month for a cooler.Although hostel's infrastructure is quite normal but improving at an extremely fast pace.

Alumni of YMCAUST are spread over a varied geographical area and are at reputed posts. The university has a Alumni network link on its website wherein the alumni register and come together. The alumni also sponsers some of the events organized in the university and are always available to help to any student.

We have sessional exams twice before semester examinations and each semester we do get atleast 3 labs. Sessionals are of 30 marks each while semester for 60 marks. Talking about labs: Internals are of 30 marks and externals 20 Marks. We generally have 6 subjects in a semester and the sessional exams last for generally 3 days which means 2 exams in a day which is to some extent exhaustive.

1. Candidates need to visit the website www.hstes.org.in where the application forms for getting admission into Engineering Colleges of Haryana are released. Candidates can get all other details like application fee, last year cutoffs etc. from that website. 2. After filling in the form, candidates need to do 'choice filling' as to what branches they desire in which colleges/universities in order of their priorities. 3. Seat is alloted to candidates, the result of which is available on hstes.org.in 4. Candidates have to download the provisional seat allotment letter and report at that same institute as and when specified in the seat allotment letter along with all necessary proofs mentioned on allotment letter. 5. Candidates not alloted a seat or not satisfied with the alloted seat can still do 'choice filling' as it is done in some number of stages

The faculty of YMCAUST are amazing. We have a lots of PHD holders in all departments specializing in various fields of interest. The associate professors, assistant professors too are very good at teaching and teaching methodology of most of the teachers involve interacting with student and making teaching live and learning a fun.
