Remarks

College management was good. They listen to students problems and hold various Student Administration meetings. Also, there was an effective Grievance redressal system.

Entrance Preview

LEET - Lateral entry engineering Test (Haryana) Rank - 103 I choose YMCA because 1. it is the best Govt. college for engineering in Haryana. 2. It is location. NCR 3. Good placement stats. I too got selected for Adobe Systems from campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum was average. Actually, the syllabus war not updated from a long time. In bachelor's course, there was almost zero focus on research. Also, you don't have the option to select from the list of elective subjects. Department itself decides what subject needs to be taught and that become compulsory for students.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, various companies visited our campus for internship and interenship cum placement offer. Stipend range - 9000 - 22000 per month Some of the companies which I am able to recall are - Samsung Reserach Institute, Noida- 22000 Newgen technologies - 9000 Bits & Bridge, a startup in Faridabad - 12000 TCS - 0 Rest I don't remember.

Placement Experience

4.5

Campus placements was good for Computer Science, Information Tech., Mechanical but for Electronics and Electrical theyplacements were below avarage. Overall 60% students of my batch got placed with average package og 3.75 LPA. Almost 50 comanies visited the campus, name and package details are available at college website - ymcaust.ac.in

College Events

4

There were only one Anual Technical-cum-cultural fests -- Culmyca. It was very low budget fest and 80% of the students were not take any participation in it. Also, there was an annual sports meet- again students were not interested in participation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee was feasible. As YMCA was a Govt college fees are reasonable, INR 49500 per year excluding hostel fees which was around INR 20000 per semester. The Fee structure is given below - tution Fees - 20000 per sem. Examination charges - 1500 per sem misc. fees - 3000 per sem No extra charges.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I had not availed any of such facility and not remember any of the scholarships. Actually, most of the scholarship were for Reserved Category students and I belongs to General category.

Campus Life

3

Campus life was very good, I still miss my college days. Gender ratio - 2:5 (female:male) Diversity - Not much, most of the students belongs to Haryana state and some from Punjab, Delhi, and J&k Extracurricular - Various workshops and seminars. Labs - Good and Air conditioned labs. Sports - Corruption in the sports department. No good sports coach. Competitions such as robotics, debates etc. - Organised mostly during College Fest.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel - 3/5 Mess Food - 3/5 Hostel rooms were very small and are only on sharing basis - 3 person per room. Total Hostel charges were around 3500 including everything. Hostel bathrooms and toilets were not cleaned and hygienic. Hostel seats are limited, but there were good PG facilities costing from 4500 - 8000 per person.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network - MOB(Meet old buddies). MOB holds various events across Delhi NCR where Alumni from even 1970's batch comes and share their experience and we get a chance to enhance our professional network.

Exam Structure

It was very hectic during exam days. We had 2 sessional exams per semester and semester end exam. Sessional Exams - 2 per day, completed in 3 days End Semester - 1 per day, completed in 6 days Labs - Weekly 4 labs of 3 hours each and were chilled out.

Admission

The entire process is online and is managed by HSBTE (Haryana State Board of Technical Education) Admission Process was - 1. Online Entrance Test - notification released in April 2011 and exam was conducted in June 2011. 2. Online counseling - after LEET result online counseling starts in June 2011 itself and result declared in July 2011. There were 3 counselings but I got selected in the First. 3. Physical reporting in the institution along with Demand Draft and supporting documents - In July 2011.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was good and experienced, having good theoretical knowledge but only some of them have good practical knowledge. Most of the faculty members were Master degree holder and under Ph.D. Also, all the faculty members are permanent and recruited through a transparent and tough process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics
