Engineering at Budget

My 4 years were spent well in this college and I will complete my graduation in ECE this year. This college has provided me with a Job and a wonderful forward path in my life. If you perform well in your studies, this college will return you with rewards. College management could have been better but it takes very good care of its students.

I got around 8K rank in WBJEE in 2013 and this is the best college to join for the respective rank for streams like ECE AND CSE

I enrolled for ECE stream. This stream is vast with around 40 subjects to pass. After 1st year, every semester has plenty of elective subjects to choose from which are accordingly to the WBUTB curriculum. Abstudent registers under WBUT (MAKAUT) when he/she joins this college. ECE stream curriculum is very good and covers all the aspects of electronics and communication.

Our college provides Industrial training in the 4th year and provides external internship/training guidance for all its students. I did my training in AIR Kolkata which was arranged by the college while other students had done their summer/winter training at various other places such as BSNL, Airport(AOI), etc

We have some of the mass recruiters coming to our college every year. One of them is TCS. Other companies such as Johnson Controls, Capgemini, CTS, BOSCH, IBM, and many other renowned companies come for recruitment. This year in ECE -65 students were placed in TCS and all in total around 90 and counting students out of 120 from Ece were placed. CSE IT and EIE streams also have similar placement records.

we have technical fest called Avenir every April. It's a fun fest with various events to take part in such as robotics, gaming, dance etc. Departments have their various homecoming events for passed out students. We have cultural fest for every department.

course fee for ECE is around 3.63 lacs which is not much. It is very feasible considering other private colleges who provide similar facilities which this college provides. there are various concessions for minorities and TFW category students. loan facility is provided by the college through their contact banks during admission.

Loans are easily abailable for education. You can also contact college administration for guidance in availing loan facility. TFW category students have to pay very less fees and concessions for minorites are also available.Scholarship is also available for meritorious students.

The Campus environment is very calm and soothing with minimum outside interference. There is no kind of politics followed in this college. No discrimination is done according to race religion or caste. Everyone is treated equally. No kind of ragging is done in or outside the college.

Hostel rooms are limited and hence many stay in PGs. Room rent is around 7-10k around the college. College has its own canteen where hygienic food is available. PGs are not far away from the college and are in good conditions around the area. Students stay in groups of 4 or 2 in pGs and cook their own food or have a cook. There are plenty of restaurants around the college too.

We have alumni meet for every department and their exposure is very helpful to students. Alumni's guide students to have a bright career in their future. Seniors are very helpful in providing notes, project works, studies and overall procedures in the college.

We have per sem - 2 Unit tests and final semester exam for theory every 6 months. Various assignments have to be submitted during the semester periods for individual subjects. Lab practicals have separate exams with viva and written parts. exams and assignments are part of engineering which cannot be skipped. they are not hectic if we study regularly throughout the semester. We get a CGPA out of 10 for every sem. A cgpa above 8.5 is considered good in WBUT.

Admission process is simple. After online counselling you have to physically report at the college with the required admission fees. All the necessary steps to be taken are provided in the wbjee website which one can follow easily. There is no personal interview or that sort of things. Only online counselling asigns you your college

Faculty of this college is good for certain subjects while not good for others. We have esteemed faculties for core subjects of ECE who explain topics to students excellently. Elective and non-departmental subject teachers are also efficient but not for every elective subject.
