Remarks

The college management on overall basis is good but still there are a few areas where special attention is required. For example: college management is insufficient to provide information about any emergency holiday occurred in our college. The college management on overall basis is good but still there are a few areas where special attention is required.

Entrance Preview

Didn't have to take any entrance examination., it was based on the marks achieved in ISC examination (+2).

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

A team of highly qualified professors help the students to build up concepts. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Heramba Chandra College. I am very much satisfied about our faculty members. Equal attention was paid by the lecturers for both the honours as well as pass subjects.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college in which I studied did not provide any internship opportunities at that time. One had to find an internship externally or could search for a job.

Placement Experience

2.5

The college did not provide any opportunity for placements nor there were any campus interviews organised but the professors individually helped us by providing some referrals. Those referrals were of big help as those paved a smooth path for us. The Placement and job opportunities are not like Engineering students, it's same as every Graduation student. We have to find our own placement. What have to give exams and all, there are no such exact placement or certain placement.

College Events

3.5

We celebrated the freshers' welcome where we got welcomed in our first year. The freshers' welcome was organised on the last day of the college before the pujas which made the event more important as we all were in the festive mood. The college social was organised just after the pujas and it became the medium of celebrating Bijaya. Many artists of high repute performed in both the occasions. Other than these two events there were annual sports organised every year in the month of January.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is a government funded College, the fees are minimal. The college fees is annular basis, and it's stays with in 4000 to 8000 Indian rupees every year. The Senior students are good and often helpful. Senior students some time guides us, they are very helpful. They are friendly, and they handle all the small matters of college, and they maintain the college Heritage and pride.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail of any scholarships though there were scholarships available under sports, commerce and extra ordinary performance in language. There were no loan facilities provided.

Campus Life

3

Our college was a co-education college though the co-education system started only a year before. The ration of gender between male and female should be 10:7. There were students from all religion like hindus, muslims, sikh, christians. We were all united in the college and still now.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There was no hostel in our college and the fees were very nominal because it was a Govt. aided college. On the other hand there was a cheap canteen and it was our place of great time pass, the food were very delicious with different variety like Indian, Chinese and Bengali etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The Senior students are good and often helpful. Senior students some time guides us, they are very helpful. They are friendly, and they handle all the small matters of college, and they maintain the college Heritage and pride.

Exam Structure

University exams are held yearly. But many tests are held to check the students' preparation before final exams. In the course of three years, there is a main final exam in every year, where students go to another college to attend the exam, and rest of the year, there is one small exam and one Selection test.. Attendance of 75% is mandatory to appear in the University examination.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties or the professors, rather, were very good and were very helpful. they did not look at the subjects they taught as their profession only but they were very helpful as they provided extra notes as well as extra classes to facilitate the students.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
