Remarks
KEAM exam was there. Attended it and I got ranked around 1800 in all of Kerala. For the mechanical stream, it was the last rank for the general category in my year. The details of keam exam can be found at cee.kerala.gov.in.
Course Curriculum Overview
The mechanical branch seemed pretty interesting to me and I chose this college since it is the top-ranked government college in Kerala. Each department has roughly about 40 faculty minimum. And each year there are 2 classes with around 75 strengths. Not much sure about the total number of faculty members. The teachers are very well qualified with PhDs in their respective fields. The teaching method is also good. Exams are fine for an average student if prepared well.
Placement Experience
From 6th-semester placement, drives start. Too many companies reach out to us including Texas Instruments, TCS, Infosys, saint Gobain, bosch, amazon, and many more. The average package is around 6LPA. The highest was about 43LPA. Almost 80% get placed and others usually opt for higher studies. My plan is to get placed and then after 2-3 years seek an MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee waivers and exemptions are present for financially struggling students. Scholarships are also available for helping those students out. Already the fees are low since it is a government college. I applied for a central sector scholarship and am receiving 10,000 on a yearly basis.
Campus Life
The cultural fest is called Dhwani, the technical fest is called Drishti. Both of these fests are very well known in all of Kerala. Many students all over the state attend the fests conducted in our college. Last time Dhwani was in the month of may and Drishti in June. The library is very well equipped and available till 6 pm. Classrooms are airy, big in size, with ceiling fans and lights. No air conditioning in classes but is available in certain computer labs. There are many clubs present here that boost the talents of students and help them in many ways. Last semester even a queer club(prism cet) was established for being a safe space.
