The eligibility is defined clearly on the JIPMER Website. The application forms and process is too on the website and is easy to access and understand. Dates will be announced by the institute after the counseling. Reservation benefits are according to the government guidelines and the admission process is fair and free to all who are eligible and possess merit.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because of my interest and will to study medicine. The faculty-student ratio in each department varies from 1:15 to 1:20 and the faculty are highly qualified with basic degrees being MBBS, MD/MS, further many of them have obtained their fellowships from England and USA. Each semester has 1-2 internal assessments and the year culminates with one mock exam and one final exam. The exams are made to test our understanding as well as prepared us so that an average student can easily pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees include hostel and academic fees. Mess fees are separate from these. Academic fees vary from 12,620 rupees in the first year to 6,960 each year for the next 3 years. Hostel fees are around 500/month with a one-time caution deposit of 6,000 rupees. Mess fees amount to about 3,000 rupees per month. There is no scholarship, financial assistance, or on-campus jobs provided.
Campus Life
The annual fest of the college is Spandan which is held every year in August or September. It hosts thousands of delegates from all over the country. The Central Library is equipped with a digital library and is accessible 24/7. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and screens and are Air conditioned. Sports and extracurricular activities are held throughout the year and organized by various committees and clubs in JIPMER.
