Remarks

Eligibility — For Grant admission above 60% in the 12th class and you can take non grant if it's below 60%. The application starts soon after the declaration of class 12th results of all boards. You need Science in class 12th to get admission to the BSc course. Government scholarships are awarded to category students and also to meritorious students of the 12th class. There are 2 steps for admission. First, fill out a form online on the official website of the college, then visit the college to review the application, and then pay fees online. Not a very difficult process but sometimes you have to stand in long lines to review your application. The website of the college runs smoothly so don't need to worry about the payment process. Every year you need to fill out a small online form and pay fees online to get admission to the next year. An improvement that I want to see in the admission process is to allot multiple counters to avoid the rush of students. The college must also provide a Helpline number for students in case he has any doubts regarding the admission Process.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course as I was interested in basic sciences. There are about 60 students in each class. There are around 4-5 lectures of 45 min each every day. Also, there are practical's every day. Faculties are well qualified with PG degrees. The teaching method of teachers is also very practical but some teachers use textbook methods. Exams are semester exams after every 6 months. Though there are some internal exams in college it is only considered to be practice exams. Teachers are friendly with students and also guide them whenever they need help. Exams are not very difficult to pass. Most students pass exams on rote learning from different guides available in the market.

Placement Experience

2

The average package that students get is around 3-4 lakes per annum. Very few companies visit the campus. There are no internship opportunities for students though students are free to avail off-campus internships. Many students also opt for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the course are around 7k-8k. There are different scholarships for underprivileged, category students, disabled students, and meritorious students as well. Mahadbt is a government scholarship. Everything is properly guided by staff on how to avail of these scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

There is a huge number of books and textbooks for every subject in the library. The library is open from morning around 9 am to evening 5 pm. There is one huge cricket ground, gym, volleyball court, NCC unit, and kabaddi ground available to students. Internet facility is available in the library.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
