Remarks
Admissions are taken by JEE rank. 85% of seats are filled by Haryana resident students and 15% by outside Haryana. Applications are filled through the HSTES website (hstes.org.in), application fees are about 1000 Rs. and applications are taken after JEE mains exams approximately. I did not take any reservation benefits, but reservations are there based on caste and EWS category as well. The admission process is overall fine but could be made more online, to make it easy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I did not know about the different courses at that time, I got ECE in my first counseling and continued with that course. The faculty-student ratio is good. Many students opt for this course. Many teachers are Ph.D. holders and many are contract based as well. Experienced teachers have good subject knowledge and some contract-based teachers do not have good knowledge. The teaching method is the same as classroom based. Whiteboards are used. Still, assignments and files are submitted in printed format i.e. need to submit offline. There are end-semester exams every semester and three sessional(mid-term) exams, from there three, two are compulsory to take. It's not much difficult to pass the exam.
Placement Experience
From the seventh semester onward. Some companies are Embitel Technologies, Bebo technology, Yamaha Motors solutions, hashed, TCS, Infosys, etc. The highest package is 10 lakh, with 2 offers, and the average package is 4-5 lakh per annum. About 90 percent of qualified students get placed in companies. I want to do a job for now.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are about 80,000 per year as of now. When I took the admission it was about 70,000 per year. We can see a hike in college fees. After that fees, you need to buy study material and other things as well such as a laptop, and books. There are plenty of scholarships for SC/ST students but for general students, it's very limited. Haryana Pragati Scheme for a technical college and more can be checked at National Scholarship Portal as well.
Campus Life
Two main fests are the Milaap and Excelsior. Milaap is a fest in which alumni are invited to alumni meet. Lectures and panel discussions are there in Milaap. DJ night is also there in Milaap. Excelsior is the main fest, this is a techno-cultural fest, and both technical and cultural events are there in Excelsior. star night, competitions, performances, and many more. Course books are available in the college library, but for a vast collection of books and journals, the central library of Kurukshetra University is there, where a very vast collection of books is there. It is the biggest library in Haryana. Classrooms are just fine with the traditional ways of teaching, some rooms have projectors as well. Sports and other cultural and technical clubs are there on campus, students can take part in them. There are mainly two clubs in the college, E-Cell, and GDSC.
Hostel Facilities
The room is normal, Non AC rooms are there. Good in space and well furnished. Food quality is average and the menu is decided by the student committee. Now the registration process is online and hostels are affordable. The rent is about 1000rs. per month and the food cost is about Rs. 3500 per month.
