Remarks
You need to write the Kerala Entrance exam for Engineering and Medical (KEAM). Just apply through keam counseling to get in. Not enough staff throughout the admission process. The students themselves took the initiative to offer help to the freshers.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I thought it would be fun to learn something totally new, I was always into engineering but preferred computer science, but thought electronics would be cool too. Faculty to student ratio is decent. Faculty is decently qualified while a few are inadequate. The term exams were very tough as the university is notorious for its semester exams.
Internships Opportunities
Our college has not had many internship opportunities offered by themselves. We have to search for them ourselves and put in the effort since we'll get almost no support from the college. I have done an internship in my 2nd sem, but that was all from my own efforts.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements in the 6th semester. Almost 30 companies visited and made 250+ offers to the students this year. The highest package is around 10lpa and the average is around 4lpa. Almost 70% of the students who opt for placements are getting offers. My plan after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost to study is a bit high, It is a self-financing government-controlled college under KSRTC's management. The college has separate seats for KSRTC employees' children. The college has a placement unit called CGPU which provides more than enough support for placement.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest is called Cult-a-way and it is one of the biggest festivals in all of Kerala. The technical fest is not that big of a deal around here. The library has plenty of books for all subjects and courses and is more than enough to refer to. Sports facilities are very inadequate around here since we don't even have a proper football ground. The student groups around here are run well, and some of them are IEEE, NSS, and so on.
