Remarks
It was through an entrance examination called CEE. As it is a government college, fees are very less. Applications are always advertised via the internet. I found it in the newspaper. Reservations are as per Assam Government criteria.
Course Curriculum Overview
Students to teacher ratio were 3:1, which is very good actually. All of the civil engineering professors were Ph.D. from IITs. Examinations were based on class, and previous examination papers were very helpful. I opted for civil engineering l, because of the demand also the faculty here is very good.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are both paid and non-paid. Mainly non-paid internships are there. And it's mandatory to do an internship before the 7th sem. Many platforms like railway, apdcl, neepco, PWD, and PHE are there, where students can join internship programs. IIT Guwahati is also joined by students to complete the internship.
Placement Experience
Campus interviews started in the 7th semester. Oil India, Iocl, Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, and Bajaj are some examples of companies. Every year 50 to 70% of students are offered by them. The highest package lies between 9 to 10 LPA. The lowest is 3 to 3.5 LPA. I joined the PWD department.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are very less. Around 10000 per semester. And 1000 of examination fee. Scholarships are also available for different caste people, and NEC is also available. No financial assistance is required as this is a government college.
Campus Life
There are 3 to 4 annual cultural and technical events organized every year. The library is available. Classes and laboratories are modern. Every sport is being practiced. Cricket, football, tennis, basketball, volley, and other facilities are available with a proper trainer. Cultural and literacy society is there.
Hostel Facilities
The room is very spacious. Everyone will be rewarded with a single room after the 4th semester. Fully furnished rooms. Three-time meals were provided maintaining well hygiene and our daily workload. Registration of hostels is done on admission day.
