A smart view on Assam Engineering College, Guwahati

The admission process is quite easy, it was online counseling, to get selected for counseling we have to qualify for an entrance exam, Common Engineering Entrance, where I achieved a 350 state rank. After qualify we have to choose the preference college and branch, there will be auto upgradation and We have to fill up the admission form in the online process and which was quite interesting. Caste reservation only for SC and ST tribes.

Assam Engineering College, Guwahati is famous for its Electrical Engineering Course which provides a minimum placement of 800000 per annum. The Electrical Department faculty is excellent. This branch provides the highest package. Electrical Department we have, 78 faculty, and the teaching mode is modern having a projector and Touchpad TV in every class, with smart classes. There will be taken every class test after every module completion.

There is many more internships provided by top companies in the summer and winter season, many more companies collaborated with IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, etc. provided internship in colleges. During the internship, we also have to present a presentation about the topic. Projects are offered mainly in from 4th semester.

From the 5th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. There are so many companies visited in college per year for placement. Eg. NGO, GAIL, Oil India, Psu, Microsoft, APDCL, ONGC, and many more, etc. The highest package offered by Microsoft was 3400000 per annum. Approximately 70-85% of students get placed. Every year from campus placement. I plan to qualify for ISRO entrance and to dedicate my life in the Research field.

This college is a Government College under the government of Assam, which is why the fee is quite low in comparison to other colleges. There will be also scholarships provided by the college itself to each student from a poor family. The campus is green with affordable environmental conditions. The campus building is good architecture. I got a scholarship from Stuti Thakuria Memorial Scholarship.

There is also an annual college fest named " Pyrokinesis" which is conducted in the year of April- June. We must have to issue a Library card during the admission period by providing 300 rupees and it is used to issue all the class requirements books from the Library for the whole of the B.Tech course. Classrooms are modern. Sports are held in college week and there are intercollege games. There are so many clubs available, Coding, Robotic, Literature, Art, and many more, etc.

In the hostel per year admission fee is 7000 and the per month fee is 2500-2900 including all. In 1st and 2 nd years, 3 students in a room are allowed but from 3rd and 4th years 1 student in a room is allowed. The registration process is easy, after completing the counseling process, it is automatically get selected. There are 7 boys and 1 girls hostels. There are so many PG and Rented rooms near the college area. The college hostel's architect is excellent.

The question and Syllabus under the CEE entrance test is whole syllabus of class 11 and 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths. There is also a alternative process for admission to clear JEE mains having more than 80 percentile. One more alternative process is to clear ITI diploma certificate than get directly admission into 2nd year. Best round to get admission is to clear it's entrance CEE.
