Remarks

Parties and Events organized by college are grand. Farewell, annual gathering are well managed.

Entrance Preview

CET 2012:123marks. Studied Civil engineering. This college is good for extracurricular activities, that's why I opt for Maharashtra institute of technology, pune.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Faculty is good and very cooperative, except 2-3 professor. In civil engineering department attendance is not a big issue. So there is scope for extracurricular activities and fun. It was under Savitribai Phule Pune University as its well reputed university in the world, course was semester based. Now there is a trimester pattern.

Internships Opportunities

No internship was provided at that time. But now 6 months internship will be provided by mitwpu. No stipend.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement is good for computer engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering. But for civil very few companies will come. SPCL,Thyssenkrupp, and Kumkang kind. Placement officer is worst person I have ever seen in this college. Placement cell is not so active and cooperative. They try to push students in IT sector and increase placement record in college. If anyone is joining for placement I will suggest not to join MIT. Other colleges with same placements and less fees are available in pune.

College Events

5

Technical event- 1. Robocon (national and international level) MIT is best in robotics. Represented India. 2. Acceleracers- represented India 3. Baha- represented India 4.Nirmitee- Civil engineering National Event. Non technical events- 1.Bhartiya Chatra Sansad 2.abhivyakti 3.college annual fest And many more...

Fee Structure And Facilities

Before becoming university. For 4 years- 120000*4=480000 After becoming university For each year 2.6lacs Very much expensive. Don't go for it, not worth now. Waste of money. If you are investing money Go for Amrita university, Manipal university. Spending 10.5lacs is worth there not at MIT,Pune.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship, no loan. everything to be done by yourself college will not help you for loan. OBC,SC,ST freeship provided by social welfare department was applicable at the time of pune university. Now I don't know about free ship.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is best. Every facility is in college. There is branch of Bank of India inside the campus. Also ATM is there inside.1:1 gender ratio. You will find people from whole India. People come from Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi, Sudan, Africa to study. Diversity is good. Its always good to have friends from all over world.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Boys hostel is 1.5km away from campus. Hostel is quite good with compulsory food of worst quality. Better is staying outside. For girls hostel is good. But food quality is same. Hostels are expensive to 80k per year + 30k food. Outside stay takes 10k per month with good food and good lifestyle.

Alumni/Alumna

College is now maintaining alumni network. Previously it was very bad. We have maintained our senior network, college didn't help.

Exam Structure

Online + Offline examination is there for first two years. And only offline exam is there for last two years. Online exam is conducted by pune university with worst software interface, even if you study or not you will get marks as per university. And best thing is there is no provision for revaluation of online exam. So no need to study.

Admission

Common Admission Process(CAP) rounds conducted by DTE was there for admission in 2012. But as of now you have to take admission through college website. Mitwpu.in is the new website for admission. As its MIT is university now with very high fees 10.5 lacs for 4 years, its easy to get admission with low score as well.

Faculty

4

Many of the faculty members are either PhD or pursuing PhD. Teaching is ok ok, but better than many colleges in Maharashtra. Labs are good and well equipped. Practicals are conducted properly. HOD for Civil engineering is very cooperative and always helping students.

In Kit college their are some rules for placement drive. In 7th sem companies started to visit our college. During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
