My beautiful college

Pillai's college management is very active and responsible since they take care of students feedback on cafeteria, cleanliness of area and student welfare concerns. College management is very much approachable and in each class, groups are created to respresent class to the college managment.

So admission to B.Sc.I.T. course is given based on your 12th grade score and unbiased, completely based on merit. I had my cousin working here and he had amazing experience here along with studies and including sports and cultural event. So it made my choice clear.

Course structure is impressive. You get to learn 7 programming languages and 2 processor level subjects which is amazing and up to the industry requirements. At end of the curriculum, you are prepared to tackle any IT interview coming your way. Special sessions are kept for guiding student for interviews and placements.

College does not provide internship programs nor its required as curriculum but college does encourage students for internships since it helps students to get the feel of real world corporate and helps in mold themselves accordingly. College does provide certificate of appreciation in such cases.

Placement cell of Pillai's college is very much active and ensures all the students are placed in companies and have kicked off their career paths. Even after college is over, if a placement drive is scheduled student who have registered are informed over email regarding same. Some big names including TCS, L&T infotech, Tech Mahindra and infosys are affiliated for placements.

College has a full fledged festival organised by student of various departments call XPRESSIONS. This festival includes technical events, sports, indoor games, cultural events and trivia. And this is inter-college festivals so students of other colleges are invited where you meet up new people and grow your network. Celebrities are also invited for guest appearances.

Fees structure for any of the course is as per norms of Mumbai University. For B.Sc.I.T:each year fees was ~24,000 (includes all the expenses.) For engineering :each year fees was ~58,000 (includes all the expenses.)For B.Com. each year fees was ~18,000 (includes all the expenses.)

College does not provide any scholarship or loan facility for the students. In such requirements information desk at college provides information on firms providing loans to students and provides them with the contacts.

Pillai's college campus is one of the best college campus and one of the most respected too. College infrastructure is really good. College has almost 1:1 gender ratio. College management arranges workshops for various departments based on their needs which includes workshops for personal and professional growth. Students come from different states and cities hence crowd is diversified and one gets to learn more about other cultures. College has zero tolerance towards any racism or bullying. Any political reference is kept out of college campus.

College does not have its own hostel so in case you are coming from far long, you have to opt for place in Panvel or nearby in Navi Mumbai. Near college there are many private hostels available which providing rooms on sharing basis for near about 4500 Rs. per month including mess. If you are looking for flat, then you can get a 1bhk on rent for near about 7000 Rs. a month.

College does not have any alumnus network of its own but I have seen people coming together on their own planning and celebrating or reliving their college campus life for a while. College management does allow ex-student to get into the campus after verification, special passes are arranged for them. But we have a lot of groups on social media wherein Pillai's alumni can meet and share their experiences and also plan some events.

Exam structure is as per Mumbai university guidance and decisions. You get a day off after each subject's exam for preparation. Labs or practicals and decided by the college management and they do ensure that it does not get hectic on students. So overall, exam structure is just aptly designed.

To get admitted here, you need to visit college to get the prospectus and admission form (costing 100 Rs then). Fill it out in detail and people are there to help in case you got any queries. Merit lists are released and pre-planned dates. When first list is released, admissions are started. Based on the seats remaining, further lists are released till all the seats are fulfilled.

Faculty of this particular course is very much approachable, well informed in their own subjects and ready to help. They always gel well with the students and help out wherever required.Ready to conduct special lectures based on requirements of the students if any important topic is to be covered considering placements and exams.
