Remarks

My experience with the college was wonderful. The management, hostel, faculty, placements all are amazing. It was a roller coaster ride for me,exciting at every step. I would definitely recommend the college to any student who wants to pursue Engineering.

Entrance Preview

I gave KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) for getting admission into the college.I got a rank around 20,000.I opted for the college because of it's famous 100% placements and also for the safe and disciplined hostels that they have. I always wanted to pursue something with Computer Science and so I chose IT Stream and I got it according to my rank. The admission procedure is first you have to give the Entrance Exam KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) and then they call you for counselling on a particular date and you get the options of streams according to your rank in the Entrance Exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure was very good. The electives I had were quite relevant with my stream which was Information Technology. Some of the Electives that we had were Data Mining and Data Warehousing. They were quite helpful for in depth understanding of my subject and also the projects which were a part of the curriculum helped me in understanding the concepts more thoroughly.

Internships Opportunities

Yes,the college provides internship in the 3 and 4 year of the course. Companies like Amazon,Flipkart,Intel,Wipro,Deloitte and more high brands come to the college for internships. The general stipend is around 20k per month and overall experience was quite nice as before the actual placements you get industry exposure with such high end brands.

Placement Experience

4.5

In my batch(Batch of 2015),the placements were 200% with most of the the students having 2 or more offers in hand. The highest CTC was 11 Lakhs. The average CTC was 4 Lakhs. The companies that came for hiring were Amazon,Flipkart,Intel,Wipro,Deloitte,Infosys,Thoughtworks,Cognizant amongst the major recruiters.

College Events

4

I would say that my college celebrated all events may it be technical, cultural or management festivals with much excitement. There was a party for all the major festivals of all the religions. Also there was a annual college fest every year which was very much fun. There were several events like the ICDCIT and various competitions like dance, music, painting etc. Sports was also a major part of the events every year. Overall, events will keep you refreshed all throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For 2015 pass out batch the total fee(4 Year) was around 9 Lakhs. I would say that the college is a little on the expensive side. But,I felt that the money was worth the studies and placements and the overall development. I never faced any sought of problems in the hostel or in the college or even in the campus in terms of safety or anything.

Fees and Financial Aid

I know about one scholarship facility that the college offers is that if you are the branch topper in any year (Ex 1 Year:1 Sem + 2 Sem),there is a certain amount of scholarship that you get from the college(It was around 10 k). Also, there is a rebate on the annual fees if you belong to ST/SC/OBC

Campus Life

4.5

The Gender Ratio is almost equal but I would say that girls are bit on the higher side of the ratio. There are various parties for various events like Diwali DJ Night,Iftaar Parties etc. Workshops are held throughout the year for different technical and non technical areas. There are cultural societies for anything that you can think:Dance,Music,Robotics,Painting,Robotics etc. There is absolutely no differentiation with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion sexual orientation, politics and economic status. And there is a Discipline Committee in the College which addresses any issues that a student may have in respect to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are very good. You wouldn't feel that you are staying in a hostel actually. The hostels are cleaned regularly in the morning. I am a vegetarian and I felt that the food was average. The rooms are 3 sharing but there is enough space for everyone. Everyone has a separate almirahs and beds. There is no need to look for any PG's as the hostels are enough to accommodate all and also every year you are moved to a different hostel, they have so many hostels!

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network and senior students are absolutely amazing. You would get all the help that you need from your seniors. Also, when you join any cultural societies, you get to interact with the seniors very closely. There is an alumni meet in every 4-5 years in which you get to meet all your passed out seniors.

Exam Structure

The Exams and labs were very relaxing as there was only one exam in a single day so that we could study and relax properly. Also, the lab exams were quite relaxing as we had good practice of all the experiments beforehand. I didn't feel that the exams were making my day hectic as the Exams were held generally in the morning so the rest of the day was free for us.

Admission

I first saw the form for KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) in Times Of India in the month of March. The best thing was that the form was free of cost.I filled the form and the exam was scheduled in April. The results were declared on the official KIIT website in the Month of May. Then counselling commenced from the of Mid May and on boarding was in the Month of June. The process was overall very smooth and they stuck to all the timings and dates.

Faculty

4

I found all the faculties very good. The best thing is that if you have any complaints or any concerns you can directly reach out to the higher management with much ease. The faculties are very highly qualified in their respective subjects and they have very good knowledge about their subjects. All the faculties were Post Graduates and the standard of teaching was quite high.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
