Remarks

Being a student at jis, here the department of electrical engineering is pretty decent, and as far as my course is concerned the department is quite friendly and approachable well. I myself have entered the college through wbjee 2021. The college also holds entrance exams for alternate entries.

The faculty members are quite helpful and also their teaching techniques are flawless. I'd say the teachers are really friendly and they tend to maintain the student-teacher relationship pretty well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The campus jobs offered are quite decent with an average of around let's say 6.5 LPA. There were a few companies with 45 lpa packages too the previous year. As far as scholarships are concerned you can apply for SVMCM but one needs to be eligible and has to keep a certain GPA and attendance to avail it well.

Campus Life

The annual fests in our college include the JIStech which is basically a tech fest where various authorities visit and judge the projects done by the college students. There are also various other clubs including the literature club, science club, nature club, NCC, NSS, and several others.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I choose this college because this college was good in among all the average colleges in West Bengal leaving the top colleges. The placement is also good. So for all this reason I choose this college. I wanted to go for heritage but my name didn't came in cutoff.
