Remarks

I got admission through Jossa. The admission process is very simple and anyone from any corner of India can get admission based on merit. If you belong to EWS/SC/ST, then you will the reservation benefits also.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty members of our college are very supportive and very knowledgeable. The course curriculum always runs on time. All the faculties have almost done their Ph.D. Generally, the exams are easy but we have to study thoroughly to get good grades.

Internships Opportunities

There are various types of internship opportunities in our college. Students can opt for research internships, development related interns, and many more. Recently, a lot of research is going on in the field of blockchain.

Placement Experience

Placements are very good in our college. Many product-based companies like Samsung, Walmart, etc and many service-based companies like TCS, Capgemini, etc are regularly visiting our campus for placement opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is Rs40,000 per year and Hostel and Mess fee is Rs30,000 per year. Many famous companies are visiting our campus for placement opportunities. We have our alumni working in companies like Amazon, Walmart, etc.

Campus Life

Ecstacy is our annual Cultural feat and Techracy is our Technical feat that happens in the month of May and November respectively. Our library is one of the biggest libraries in the whole Northeast region.

Hostel Facilities

We are provided with a bed, wardrobe, table, and chair in a room. We have a 24*7 LAN facility and electricity supply. The mess food is also of very good quality and the menu changes on a daily basis. The menu includes both Veg and Non-veg food items.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

Other colleges I applied were NEHU and Tezpur University.I got IT branch in NEHU and Mechanical in Tezpur and CSE in CIT kokrajhar.I preferred CIT because the CSE branch is what I wanted from the beginning.Even though it's infra level is less than Tezpur University,but I didn't wanted to waste time in other branch rather than CSE .CIT compared to NEHU had better chances for CSE students....Read More
