Know your B-school better

my course, PGDM core, offers many specializations to choose from like Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Human resource, which no other course offers. this was the main reason behind my choosing this course. Faculty here are very experienced, and they believe in one-to-one mentoring to students, the student ratio is approx 1:70. most of the faculties have done their Ph.D. way back and have an experience of more than 10-15 years. some with less than 10 years of experience. but all of them follow the same pedagogy. they try to make us learn more with practical knowledge, like making presentations, giving many case studies and routine quizzes. Term exams took place on time as communicated to us before the session began, and even the syllabus was covered on time. the papers were of moderate difficulty level, and not very hard to pass if you focus in class well.

companies like titan, Gcube, Smart cube, Louis Vuitton, bata, dhl, idfc, and many more have come for the summer internship this session till now, some with a decent stipend of around 15-20k and some with no stipend.

From the 5th trimester, Campus placements start. companies like Bata, Gartner EY, ADP, Darwin box, Volvo, Sbi cards, KPMG, and many more have visited the campus. each company made an offer of 5-6 candidates on average. The highest package was 23.43 lakhs pa and the average package was 9.38 lakhs pa. 100% batch is placed. my plans are to get placed with a good profile and good company.

the hike in fee is only seen in the case of hostel fee, as communicated to us before the admission only. tuition fee is 120000, excluding mess and hostel fees. The hostel is mandatory in BIMTECH. there are also 6 types of scholarships Shriyut BK Birla (min. 85% in CAT), Late GD Birls academic merit, Madhuri & Jagdish Sheth endowment awards, and more. Financial assistance is also there as BIMTECH has tied up with many banks like Union bank of India, SBI, Axis, BOB, and IDFC for providing education loans on a priority basis subject to fulfillment of their terms and documentation requirements.

The annual fest of Bimtech is Vihaan, which is conducted in the month of November. apart from this, since the are many clubs and conduits like Cultural, food, sports, CSR, photography, and many more, the institute sees many events happening every month. we recently had inter B-school sports competition in which colleges like IMT Ghaziabad, DSE, Fore, and IMI Delhi were a part. Food conduit conducted its flagship event, "Superchef" for the Bimtech students. The collection in the library is also very vast. we have an e-library as well, where you can access and see whether a particular book is available or not, and if not you can raise a request for it. also, we do not have to purchase our course books for every trimester, those are provided by the library itself. every classroom has a great and comfortable sitting space, with huge LED screens, white board, speakers, AC/Heaters.

there are 3 hostel buildings on the campus where 1 is for 2nd year PGDM boys and 2 are for girls and 1 off-campus (owned by Biotech) for all 1-year boys. some rooms are twin sharing and some are single occupancy rooms. we are provided with centralized AC/heaters, 1 almirah, 1 study table, 1 bed, and 1 mattress. The food in Bimtech is literally the best we can ever expect from a college mess. we get 4 times meals, keeping the nutrition level of each meal in mind. there is no specific registration process for it as it is mandatory for every student, so it is included in the admission process.

The admission process was pretty smooth. It was very convenient to apply for the same because of the vast acceptance of various entrances exams scores, and the online procedure. Eligibility for the application is either the candidate should appearing the final year graduation examination (1st attempt) or has a pass result of graduation i.e., no uncleared papers. It is very easy to find the application form from the website itself, as they display it on the front page. Application dates and all the updates are updated on the same. The application fee is around 2000. The only improvement I wish to see is less waiting time between the PI and results.

there was no GD. Bimtech has only PI as their selection process after the candidate fulfilled the criteria by getting cut-off scores in entrance exams like CAT, Xat, and CMAT. the process was very smooth, it was over zoom call so the students who lived far away, did not have to travel all the way to Greater Noida for the interview. There were no other criteria for admission. the student must have eligible scores in entrance exams that are mentioned above, as per the institute, and must be in his/her final year or already graduated with no uncleared papers.
