Course Curriculum Overview

I found B Tech with Electrical Engineering as an interesting branch for me. I had an intense interest in this branch. Also, the placement of our branch is very good. The faculty: student ratio is around 1:30. Our faculty members are highly qualified and had a degree of PhD and degrees from top IITs. The exams happen twice a semester.

Internships Opportunities

There are a lot of opportunities available in our college. The internship is offered by top companies like Microsoft, google, adobe etc. And they offer high stipend to us. The stipend offered by these companies is very high.

Placement Experience

The placements are very amazing on our campus. The average package is around 10.5 lakh annum per annum. The companies visited in our college are Morgan Stanley, Titan, JP Morgan, Adobe etc and offer high packages. The highest package for our college is 1.4 Crore and the lowest is 6 Lakh. While the average package is around 10.5 lakh. I am planning to do MBA for top IIMs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee is around 2 lakh per annum. Also, there is no fee hike policy in our college. There is a lot of scholarship available for students. Anyone can apply for them and get a lot of benefits from them.

Campus Life

The college life at NIT, Hameerpur is very amazing. There is a lot of fun there. There is a fest Nimbus which is a tech fest. And the other fest that happened is Hillfair which is a cultural fest. There are a lot of books available in our library and I will easily get any book that I want even if it is by a foreign author. There are a lot of sports and extracurricular activities happening in our college. There is a lot of social groups and coding clubs, organization club, sports club etc available in our college.

Hostel Facilities

There are two types of rooms three seater and four seater rooms available. And both are very good. The mess food is definitely very amazing. And it is of very good quality. The fee for the hostel is around 80 thousand. And it is affordable in my opinion. You can also take PG or rent a room in the nearby locality.

Admission

I had cleared JEE mains exam. If you had cleared your JEE mains exam with a good rank of around 25 thousand( for students of other states ) then you will get admission. Also, for home state students you can expect more rank to get selected in NIT. You can fill out the form for JEE mains by going through the official website of NTA. The forms are released in the month of January or February. If I belong to the general category then I don't get any reservation benefit but yes if someone belongs to the general club then he will get some benefit.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation. The admission was done by josaa. The admission process was easy. Simply go to their online portal and submit details and required documents. NIT Hamirpur offers more than 30 programmes at UG, PG and doctoral level. Candidates seeking admission to any of these courses must appear for the respective entrance exam and qualify its cutoff. NIT Hamirpur offers a four-year BTech programme across nine specialisations in full-time mode. The selection of candidates to NIT Hamirpurs BTech programme is based on their JEE Main score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats.
