The exams are conducted on a semester basis which counts to eight for the 4-year course with two semesters per year. Exams incorporate medium to tough questions that check the student's ability to solve problems critically as well as creatively.

The campus internships are quite less apparent from the fact that there always have been a wide range of internship opportunities brought by the different student/professional groups like the SAE and IEEE.

About 50percent of the students are placed at different campuses by the time they are passed out of the institution. There is a placement cell which can be approched yet to be improved. But the chances of getting into pool campus placements are high than from the campus.

There are no separate tuition fees other than the semester registration fees and exam registration fees which roughly round up to 10000 per semester. Different kinds of scholarships can be availed provided by both the state and national governments. This might even include hostel rents if any. There are always scholarships for sc, st, obc, ews, etc that might take up the whole study expense

The whole college is run by the students' elected union apart from the legal and official needs of the college that is run by the authorities themselves. Every department has there own college associations to conduct programs concentrated on specific needs. Mechanical engineering students can be part of many more wide engineering societies including SAE(Society for Automotive Engineers), ASME, IEEE, etc that helps in developing overall work exposure, point skills as well as communication skills. Library and other basic facilities are fair enough in providing quality facilities.

The college hostel is provided both for boys and girls. Every room is allocated for 4 students and have study tables and beds for each one of them. Hostel facilities include study room, tv room, computer room and wifi facilities. The other private hostels are monitored and ranked by the authorities as well.

Eligibility is through Kerala engineering entrance examination widely recognized as KEAM. You can apply for the entrance through online website of cee. Exams are conducted offline and include Mathematics and science subjects. You should have studied physics, chemistry, maths, and (biology) or equivalent after 10th. Once you have qualified for the entrance whose cut-offs are based on the overall students' performance, you can choose your college options from the cee website. There will always be separate cut-offs for SC, ST, OBC, etc. Once the colleges of the student's interest opt there will be a publishing of a trial allotment which would be followed by a minimum of 2 or a maximum of 3 allotments. The further procedures include taking admission to priority colleges, where procedures may be different according to the institutions.
