Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is updated regularly. We have subjects such as Platform Business Models, Business Analytics with R, and courses on IoT. This ensures that whatever is being taught is in line with what's going on in the industry. I chose XIMB, because of its reputation as a premier institution in spite of not being in a metro city. This speaks volumes about the quality of the institution. The faculty-student ratio is 1:12, ensuring that everyone is able to grasp the concepts taught and clear their doubts. We have highly qualified faculty, with some who are stalwarts in their respective fields. Teaching methods vary according to faculty, but there is a central emphasis on case-based learning, which makes difficult concepts easier to relate to. There is a lot of academic rigour at XIMB, and while actually failing a course is pretty rare - the academic load can get stressful at times.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is around 22 Lakhs for 2 years. With median placement of almost 20 lakhs per annum, that too in a not so favourable economic scenario, you do get plenty of opportunities to get an amazing RoI not only through placements but also through case study competitions that XIMB has been acing for the past few years, and live projects.
Campus Life
We have a lot of student committees. One can be part of core committees ( Eg- CAS - The placement committee, Alcom - Alumni Committee), Functional Committees (Eg - MAXIM - Marketing Committee, XFIN - Finance Committee), or Interest Committees. The library is well-equipped and sufficiently stocked, with very helpful staff. We have fully air-conditioned classrooms with sufficient space. There is a football ground, jogging track, indoor badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, and cricket practice nets. Xpressions is the annual management and cultural fest of XIMB, which is a 3-day extravaganza full of fun and frolic.
Admission
The admission process gives a range of entrance exams to choose from, something that is unique to XIM University. The basic eligibility was 55% in undergraduate. One can apply for admission through CAT, XAT, GMAT or XIMB's own entrance exam - XGMT. All information can be accessed through the website. After the results are announced, the cut-offs are declared and for non-domicile students, the mid-high 90s is a good percentile in any of the exams. There was only one round for my batch - an interview round.
