Course Curriculum Overview

there are about 20 to 25 professors in every department. most of them are highly educated and Ph.D. holders. they are friendly and down-to-earth people. their way of interaction is great. exam levels at jadavpur university are easy to moderate.

Fees and Financial Aid

in engineering, fees are very low compared to other colleges in all over India. fees are INR 4500 for all engineering streams. but in information technology fees is INR: 25000. students get svmcm scholarship which is up to INR 60000/ year.

Campus Life

the annual cultural fest is sanskriti organized by all students in the month of August. and the techno-management fest is srijon organized in the month of May. huge green campus with great sports facilities, and lots of clubs present to nurture students' creativity.

Admission

for admission to jadavpur university students must qualify west bengal joint entrance exam. for computer science, the engineering cutoff is nearly 100-150. if someone's rank is within 5000 he/ she can get into this institute. students get admission through wbjee counseling.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
