Course Curriculum Overview
I didn't choose this course with much consideration but when getting here as this specific course is very special in my college. The faculty-to-student ratio is about 70:1. So it is very good. The teachers are highly qualified and the teaching method is what I like the most here. It's very attractive. Passing the exam is easy but the number of term exams may worry you. The term exams occur at an interval every three weeks or two weeks sometimes.
Internships Opportunities
Our college offers a range of internship opportunities for engineering students, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world engineering projects. The internships don't have that much stipend in them. But it is worth the experience. Many technology companies offer internships to engineering students, providing opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects in areas such as software development, computer engineering, and artificial intelligence.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from 4th year. Companies like TCS, Oracle, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc are there and the offers vary for each company. The average package here is around 6 to 7 lacs per annum. Students in my course have a very high rate of getting placed. It's 99%. I want to pursue further studies in MBA. So I'll be preparing for that only from my 3rd year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee doesn't increase while you will be studying but for new admissions the fee increases every 3 or 4 years. There are many scholarships you can avail of here. The college will guide the scholarships and will help in many other ways.
Campus Life
There will be a high number of fests which will continue for three months or so. The library isn't big and it doesn't have that many books but there are books that are useful. The classroom is very good. You will like to be there. There are two playgrounds and a specific club for sports activities. There are clubs for every department and clubs for some special cause such as Our departmental club InspirIT, there's a robotics club, there's a technical club Geekonix.
Admission
You need to be under a specific rank like under 4000 to be eligible for admission in the course of IT. You can find the application form as WBJEE as it is an entrance exam for the state of West Bengal. The form fee is 1200 and the application date starts around mid December or January. They are reservation benefits for the students living in West Bengal but for outsiders, there are no such benefits. The outsiders have a problem during registration in universities as they need to go back and forth to college for registration. This should be improved there.
