Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course B.Tech in Information Technology because I was very sure from the beginning that I have to take admission in B.Tech only. In my college HIT most of the faculties have done Ph.D. and their way of teaching is also good. And the semester exams were also timely at an interval of 6 months.

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 393200 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is not much internships opportunity in our college but there is some company that took students as interns. Some of the projects and outcomes to clarify the tasks are image captioning, a car rental system, and many more.

Placement Experience

From the end of the sixth semester, the placement gets started and the companies that visit our college are TCS, MindTree, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, cognizant, Capgemini, IBM and there are many more companies. And the highest package as I have heard is about 14 lakh per annum and the average is about 5 lakh per annum and the percentage of getting placed is approx. 95%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees of my college are 393200 and if you belong to West Bengal, then you have many scholarship opportunities but if you are an outside student then you don't have any scholarships here. And Campus jobs are also good.

Campus Life

There are many fests that are being conducted in our college every month, one of them is the nascent fests. And the availability of the books is so easy as you just have to take your library card to get a book. Almost all books are available.

Admission

First I took the WBJEE exam in the year 2019 through which I got admission to the Heritage Institute of Technology by attending the WBJEE counseling. As I am an outside West Bengal student, I didn't get any reservations.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
