What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the teacher interaction the most
- The college exceeds the reputation that it has, because of being an off campus college
- The campus is totally ragging free and the seniors do not indulge in any such behaviour of teasing or disturbing anyone; not even other students do such behaviour with anyone
Dislikes
- The campus is not too big and the buildings too look like a bit of a nursery school.
Course Curriculum Overview
I've always had an interest in mathematics. When I choose this college, I had high hopes and expectations regarding the education that I was about to receive. And I am very happy to say that all those expectations have been fulfilled. I have high hopes for my forthcoming final year of the college degree, as well. The student-to-faculty ratio here is 45 to 1 and that is pretty impressive, keeping in mind the expertise of the faculty in the respective subjects that they are teaching. The teachers here hold doctorates in mathematics from respected institutions many teachers were rank holders too. Following the regular curriculum of Delhi University the college takes tests for internal assessment for which the marks are reported, as well as oral tests and regular class discussions to ensure the understanding of the students towards the subject that they are being taught. The level of all these tests and discussions is as per the requirement for the final examinations.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come and go for internships in the college a few that recently came to hire the students for such intentions were the Indian academy of science which provided a very good opportunity for the students who are interested in science mainly to have a chance in research or academic programs, the students there had to collaborate with the seniors or the supervisors there to conduct basic researches and something related.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placement from around the 5th semester and there are a lot of companies that visit the college to hire those students based on their capabilities. I believe the highest package went for around 10 lacs for the computer science students and the average packages are around 3 to 4 lacs and the last number of students to get a placement in an average company. As a student, my plan is not to get a job just after completing the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid Rs 9500 for my first year and around the same amount in the second year as well and I believe that it is a very less amount of fee that is being asked for the high quality of education that is being provided here and high prices of education that we see nowadays which makes it affordable for the children who come from lower-income classes as well. Since I am a general student I do not have much idea about the scholarship programs or the financial assistance that is available on the campus but in my opinion, the fees are very much affordable for almost everyone in today's scenario.
Campus Life
There is a large number of books and journals, available in the college library which makes it easier for the students to study from books that are super expensive and not affordable or easily available. Almost all the classrooms have projectors which makes it easier for the Teachers to present the students with a graphical or pictorial representation of the topic that is being explained to them. Many social clubs and groups are being run by the students themselves, for instance, I am a part of the chess club that is being run by the students and it is very helpful for those who have a keen interest in the game.
Admission
The admission process was very convenient for me as I was able to apply to the college through the DU portal that is available for all the students that had filled up the form for admission to Delhi University.
