Bharati Vidyapeeth, B.Tech, Automobile Engineering

Remarks

The best thing about college is its infrastructure nearby Hilly area. The principal being very strict, any kind of term regarding Ragging does not exist. Being located in the city of Pune, various GATE/CAT coaching, multinational companies including HSBC, Infosys, etc are located in the city within a range of 30 km.

Entrance Preview

BVU - CET 2016 A common entrance test is conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth University, with its center all over across India and Dubai.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was allocated Production Engineering according to my rank in CET. My rank in CET was 3771. The best thing about production engineering is that it is the sub-branch of Mechanical Engineering. So subjects are almost similar, plus production has some syllabus related to industrial and automobile engineering as well as management. The other thing is Production Planning in which students are thought to make various jobs of carpentry, moulding, tinsmith, etc with the help of Lathe, drilling, CNC machine in college Workshops.

Internships Opportunities

It conducts only workshops but does not provide the internship. After the completion of the third year, the college provides 45 days official leave for the all the students to do their internship from a respected company. Students apply for the internship through various firms like BHEL, DRDO, NTPL, etc including core, public sector & private sector companies.

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus placement of the college is average. Some of the students get much better Salary package of about 15 -20 lakhs. But mostly all the students get the package in the range of 3 - 4 lakh per annum. The company's that visiting college are TCS, L&T Infotech, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Parker, etc. Mostly mass recruiting company visit to college. But is it better for the students of core branches to apply for pool campus and to get a job in core company's.

College Events

5

Various groups are there in college including Leo, Rotaract, Network Security Group, NSS, Entrepreneur Development Cell, Literary Council, Malhaar group, etc. Each group conducts various events throughout the year. A college festival named Bhartiyam is organized in the month of February. All the departments carry out various events, workshops during college festival. Traditional night is also organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When I took admission in the college in 2016, the tuition fee was 95,000 per year for Regular category students of all branches including CS, IT, Electronic communications, electrical, chemical, civil, mechanical, production. An additional fee of 8800+7700+6600 was deposited, as the college provides Diploma in Network Security Group. An extra amount of 5,000 is deposited as exam fee. And an amount of approx 5,000 is deposited during the time of admission for Uniform, stationery, library, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The best facility of the college is that, it also accept fee by the process of bank loan. The College has separate bank named Bharati Sahakari Bank in which the students can avail for an educational loan. In fact, no DD charge is applied if student deposits fee college bank. Coming on to scholarship, the college provides HSBC, a multinational company scholarship of 50, 000 to the meritorious students scoring above 9.0 CGPA per year.

Campus Life

5

A college campus is located in the city of Pune, adds stars to its prestige. An open opportunity is available for the students to prepare themselves for various activities, examinations, events, apart from engineering. Considering gender ratio, boys are to girls ratio is 70:30. Most of the students are from North India including UP, Bihar, MP, etc. There are few foreign students. Outside students get aware of the Marathi culture including dressing, food, Ganpati celebration, etc. Labs of the college are best having all the equipment related to the subjects. Various games are held at Sports level including cricket, volleyball, basketball, football, etc. In fact, the college has its own state-level football & cricket team.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The college has separate hostel facilities for boys nd girl. College provides hostel facilities only for the boys of 1st year engineering students. After that, students have to accommodate in private hostel, PG, or 1,2 BHK flats. For girls, the hostel is for a total duration of the course completion. The hostel fee is 90,000 per year which includes hostel as well as mess fee. The food of the mess is average having Marathi food dishes.

Alumni/Alumna

Being the student of 2nd year, not much aware about Alumni. But to the best of my knowledge, a separate Alumni Association group is there which comes to college every semester to attend the seminar. Infact, Alumni is the backbone for the success of Bharati Vidyapeeth University. Being a matter of senior/ junior, any kind of activities that comes under Ragging is strictly prohibited. A very good interaction is between senior and junior.

Exam Structure

Exam structure follows a much typical pattern. A hundred marks are the grand total of theory. It includes 60 marks semester exams, 10 marks attendance, 10 marks for assignment, 20 marks for Unit test held twice. Additional, 25 marks practical examination is held. Average student scores CGPA in range of 7 - 8.5 Here, 8.0 CGPA equals to 60 %

Admission

Admission to this institution is based on the basis of merit ranking in BVU - CET. As per the rankings, counseling is held at Pune campus. Students are allowed various branches according to their merit ranking. The first two branches including Computer science and Information technology are filled first. The last ranking of IT is approx 550.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of the college has the rating of average. Some faculties are very knowledgeable about their subjects but, some visiting faculty lack certain knowledge and are less confident relating their subjects. Permanent faculty including HOD's have much better command of their subjects. They all possess Ph.D. degree.
