Remarks
Techno India is a decent college but there are many scope on improvement in several fields like academics , faculty ,infrastructure etc
Entrance Preview
WBJEE, i dont remember my score but i ranked somewhere around 9000, i opted for this college because it was the only college provided to me since second round of counselling
Course Curriculum Overview
the cousre structure was fine , but i think there should be more emphasis on practicals amd students should provided several training opportunities. there should be more worshops, i think bridge engineering should have been added to the electives along with structural analysis and other electives .
Internships Opportunities
no . no internships were provided to me but my college may provide internships but it must be for other streams , but internships should be provided to civil students.
Placement Experience
the placement and jobs were quite good but mostly for other streams like cse , it , ece , ee and so on , Civil and mechanical didnt have much placement opportunities , major recruitment was done by TCS which provided 3.6 lacs , other companies didnt recruit much and also they allowed only top 10 students to appear , other opportunities were pool campusing at various colleges
College Events
there were 2 events one cultural and one technical , the Technical one was known as EDGE , it involved several intra and inter college events , it spanned upto 3 days , events included robotics , bridge making , youth speak and many more cultural even was known as anakhronos which spanned over 2 days and involved dance , singing , fashion events and also guest performances fe
Fee Structure And Facilities
fees were about 40000 ever semester and 55000 for 2nd semester. and 1000 for exams every semester . Fee structure is a bit expensive considering the various service provided by the college at this fee structure they can provide more campus opportunities and better faculty , also they should expand the campus
Fees and Financial Aid
no scholarships were provided by college , but one could apply for various merit and need based scholarship schemes provided by the government such as wbfs and scholarships provided to the minority groups . Loans could be availed from PNB salt lake branch since it has partnered with techno india salt lake
Campus Life
the diversity ratio was almost 1:1 , the extra curricular activities involved sports mostly football and cricket and also various dance group and bands which participated in several events , but infrastructure should be developed more so that there should be more extra curricular opportunities
Hostel Facilities
i didnt stay at hostels , i rented flats , 2bhk could be like 9000 a month , i sused to share flat with 4 other people , food amounted around 2500 a month , PGs had mostly like 6000+ per month , plus they had many issues. so flats were much more comfortable and affordable and it was preferred by most of the students.
Alumni/Alumna
there is not much of an alumni network , but it should be developed because it will help students a lot , senior students do visit college but mostly regarding fest event related workshops which is quite interactive
Exam Structure
exam structure involved 2 internals , 2 semesters and labs , internals were done on 30 marks and semesters were done on 70 marks , labs involved lab assignments , viva and lab exams and it all added up to 100 marks , the grades were provided on the scale of 10 , the question papers for semesters were provided by MAKAUT and the time for each apaper was 3 hours
Admission
I got my admission through wbjee , the rpocedure was kinda lengthy , it took me around 3 days to complete the entire process at college and 1 day prior to that for counselling , administration was hectic but since they were handeling a lot os students so it was kinda obvious .
Faculty
Since this particular faculty was kinda new so faculty was not that upto mark , certain faculty members were really but mostly left after few semesters. More experienced faculty members should be provided.plus the faculty member should teach in a more interactive manner and they should provide more practicals than theories
