Course Curriculum Overview

4

Being from a commerce background and doing CMA Simultaneously, bcom hons is the course which is going to complement my CMA as well. The faculty at Hansraj College is amazing they are no doubt the best teachers. The faculties are well qualified and passionate about teaching. Teachers mainly emphasise two-way communication and try to make the class more participative and interactive. As our batch was affected by covid our classes started late during November and our first-semester exam was in March also, the schedule for the second semester is out and it is going to be held in July. The first-semester exam was at a moderate level and questions ranges from easy to moderate however, the invigilation part was very strict and as the results are not out yet I can't tell you about the evaluation process

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are various companies which offer internships you can easily take a look at those companies through the page of THE INTERNSHIP CELL Hansraj College. there are a variety of job roles offered ranging from analyst, and finance, to content writer or creator when we talk about the stipend it ranges between 5000 to 15000 and in some companies this stipend can be zero as well as I am a first-year student I can't rate the internship experience however when I talked about the same with a senior he said it is quite good

Placement Experience

4

I think from the final year final semester the students became eligible for campus placements and if you want to know more about the placement scenario at different colleges you must visit ht e college website or the placement cell of that particular college The average package offered at Hansraj is 6LPA and the highest is 20 LPA. Mainly the job profiles are from the finance sector. The BCOM and ECO hons graduates are the most students in demand. As I am doing CMA as well I am not dependent upon college only for the placement however if I didn't get placed through college or CMA then I can approach companies through LinkedIn. It is the skills that matter the most degree is just there to make you eligible.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is 23250 and the same is to be paid in subsequent years of the degree. The fees are quite affordable with all the facilities being provided to the student. so I can say the cost to study is reasonable. There is various scholarship opportunity provided by the college even by the university to help students from a weak financial background. Other than scholarships their various charity programmes are also held and recently I got 2000 rupees as a scholarship from none other than the renowned TS Grewal Sir Family/Foundation. There are various scholarship opportunities provided by the internship cell of the college and I remember a case where a group of student were given an internship offer by one of the judges at an event in the college so overall there is a lot of opportunity available out there once should be skilled equipped to grab those opportunities The Job placement is excellent a lot of companies visit the college and the average package that is offered at Hansraj was 6LPA.

Campus Life

4.5

When we talk about the fest at Hansraj it is not only at Hansraj the entire north campus of Delhi university participates in each other's colleges fest and the fest's events just keep on organising as there are a lot of societies only during the semester exam this event stops. The library is awesome the availability of books is never a problem there even if you required a certain book you can ask your teacher to sign a note and give it to the library soon as the book gets available there. The classroom is fully equipped with air conditioners and projectors to enhance the learning environment. There is also a lot of variety that can be seen in the sports activities sports of nearly all types are found here and students can participate in games of their choice even though the sports society keeps on organising events to promote various sports and also develops team spirit among students. There are a lot of societies in just a single college, they help students to take up roles and work towards it

Hostel Facilities

3.5

First of all the hostel fees is just bare minimum less than the PGs available out there and also there is not separate rooms and you have to share room with one of the college/class mate.so basically double sharing rooms are available there and you can also ask to attach water cooler during summer. In hostel you will get wifi facility and 3 time meal which is not that great. and once the semester end you will be given a reasonable to pay hostel fees to avoid throwing out. I have personally taken PG at GTB nagar which is one metro station away from vishwavidyalay even you can find pg at kamla nagar but they are quite expensive however GTB Nagar ,Mukherjee Nagar these are the localities where you can easily get rooms at reasonable prices

Admission

During My time the admission process was through CUET[Common University Entrance Test] And it is followed up by various universities asking to register on their portals. In my case, as I wanted to take admitted to DU I have to register myself on CSAS Portal The eligibility to take admission under various programmes and the subject combinations are provided in the brochure of CUET and also in the University brochure In my case for bcom hons [Mathematics/Accounts+English[Compulsory In Du]+2 subject from list B1 or either 1 subject from list B2. You can find all the updates regarding examination, application and other important dates through the official website of CUET {cuet.Samarth.ac.in} During our time CUET was initiated for the very first time so the whole process created a lot of mess. as it was the first time and also covid resulted in late implementation and made the process lengthy. As time passes it will keep getting improve

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
