Course Curriculum Overview
I choose mechanical engineering because i was always attracted towards machines like how they work and how to do their maintenance as engineers. Faculty in NIT Srinagar is quite good with good number of professors , associate professors and assistant professors. Faculty includ more than 20 teaching members all with their M.Tech , Ph.D . Teaching method are modern with use of smartboards and labs are also very good . Mainly there are two exams in a semester one is mid term and other one is end term. Its easy to pass exams only if have studied something.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are great. A lot of companies comes with a internship offers that gives good stipend to students. Companies are A14 Bharat, Quixy,Rupeek, Physics wallah, Dyeus, Alstom, ,Nxtwave
Placement Experience
Placements are really good as it is NIT. Around 85 percent of all branches are getting placements with average package of 6.5 Lacs and highest package of 27 LPA. Even i am placed in 2 companies. All big MNCs and all core companies visit our campus like Vedanta, tata, juspay, Oracle, optum, and many more.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure is also reasonable. For students below 1 Lakh family invoice per year do not have to pay for tution , they just have to pay for mess and hostels. The fees hike is also not as much because it's a national college, so no problem.
Campus Life
Campus Life is really good. Campus is located in the beautiful kashmir valley. There are various clubs for students to interact and grow. Every festival is celebrated with all joy. The sports infrastructure is top notch with a very good gym.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is also very good. There are 5 hostels for boys and 3 for girls. Hostels are with 4 bed rooms and one hostel is single bed room for fourth year students. Along with it mess food is also decent with variety of meals.
Admission
For NITs we have to clear the JEE Mains exam with a good rank. You can apply for JEE Mains during the end of the 12 th class. For NIT Srinagar there is a state Quota due to which students of Jammu and Kashmir can get admission for higher ranks also. Also there is reservation for SC , ST and OBC students.
