Entrance Preview
KEAM (Kerala entrance exam) I don't remember my rank but it was within 10000. I opted NSSCE as it's one of the best engineering college in Kerala.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was good we were the last batch to follow the 2009 scheme.But syllabus of some subjects followed old text books those instruments have already been replaced with the latest ones. But as it says "Instruments may change but principle endures". Nevertheless the syllabus provided heavy insights to the deepest of machinery which helps in building a strong foundation of the fundamentals.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college doesn't provide the internship the students themselves have to take initiative to contact the company and of course our teachers may help if any recommendation is needed for doing the internship.
Placement Experience
TCS is recruiting about 100 students in the year 2017 from our college which have 3.5LPA. Kalki Tech 4.5LPA, ENVESTNET 5.5LPA, QBURST 3.5LPA are the main recruiters in NSSCE. Even though the placement cell is very active the placement pool was poor during my year.
Campus Life
Most of the department have 50-50 gender ratios except the mechanical department.Extra curricular activities such as sports,arts and cinema festivals are really great and conducted very well by students and staffs.The college have highly active student politics.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities weren't the best but was good enough. It had the signature government infra. But the mess food was good at the very cheapest subsidized and final years can choose the menu.Students manage the list of things bought and the WiFi and bill is made by dividing system by the office staff.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is very vast as the college was started in 1960s . They are very helpful and have played a crucial role for the college developments .
Exam Structure
Lab exam were quiet chilled out.The viva voice were sometimes quiet tensing but we can manage by not getting over worried for not knowing the answers. Written exams is really chilled out as it gives us 3 hours to complete the 70 marks exam.Also we get a cool off time to read out the question before answering.
Admission
I got my admission through the online allotment process. Earlier i got admitted to another college in Alapuzha in the first allotment.On my third allotment i got transferred to NSSCE. Me & my parents didn't got the opportunity to attend the first day meeting because the class had already begin and my allotment was too late a week ago.
Faculty
We had the best teachers.Most of the teachers were former alumni of our department and college .Most of the staffs are PhD holders. we had qualified staffs each teacher excels in their subjects. As an aided college there is no compromise on the qualification and standards of the faculty.
