Remarks
Good: Great facilities, brilliant foundation, safe and homely, balanced based on academics and extra curricular activities. Bad: A bit too pricey at the end of the day
Entrance Preview
Kittee. I had a rank of about 1400. Heard it served the best placements anywhere in the country. Loved the fact it was a relatively young university with immense potential
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was pretty balanced in terms of theory and practicals. Assignments are a must and you would end up having a few by the end of every week. There were also room for sports and other extra curricular activities and focus was given on every student which includes special help at anytime of the daylight
Internships Opportunities
Internship was not a everyday achievement for the students. I haven't seen much during my time, but maybe things have changed and the internship opportunities have risen in spades
Placement Experience
This is one of those universities where they not only promise a 100% placement but they also deliver on their word. Even if a student doesn't get placed within the academic 4 years they have an option to extend their stay and keep on appearing for placements
College Events
There would be college fests every year known as kritansh which was and still is the biggest of our university and is celebrated with great aplomb. There would be quite a few activities to go for over the few days, ranging from games, cultural, the stock market to a miniature scaled roadies. You have your week sorted I'd say
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure I always felt was bit of a stretch... It used to be 1.40 lacs for every odd semester and 75k for the even semesters. Since every year had two semesters we had to pay a total of 2.25 lacs every year, adding upto 10 lacs for the four years
Fees and Financial Aid
If you are studious n lucky enough to rock every semester, you had an opportunity to join a reputed college in UK.
Campus Life
Gender ratios were almost 2:1. As for sports I don't think there are any which have not been associated with the college. Football, cricket, rugby, table tennis, pool, etc were the mainstays of our university. Quarterly tournaments were hosted and was carried out with much care. Certification was also available depending upon on you or your team performed
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities would get your savings down by 40 grand every year. But you used to get share of bed sheets and winter blankets. The food was better than any other colleges even the renowned ones as well. So even if it's not the food you have acquired at home, there's very little room for complaints
Alumni/Alumna
We do have an alumni which boasts some of the most talented people not only in India but also abroad. There is a portal where you can post your problems and the answers are reverted in a couple of days
Exam Structure
The labs for each course was once a week. Unfortunately the labs were the most interesting of the times we had spent, so we could have done with a few more. The rest was pretty much all theoretical classes. Going over 8 hours of classes every week could be a bit redundant but then again it's a university!
Admission
Had to procure online forms from the college portal Kiit. Once done you have to wait for your entrance exam which was in Durgapur. The exam had MCQ based questions on Chemistry, physics and maths. After a few weeks, the results were declared and according to your rank, a slot was allotted for the students in order to enroll themselves
Faculty
Faculty as we know will always comprise of teachers ranging from the best to the not so good ones. Having said that every student and teacher relationship is different. Every teacher had his qualities and given any difficulties would come to your aid in a heartbeat
