Remarks

I believe that the college has a great potential to be counted as one of the best colleges in India . however it still needs to improve upon the infrastructure and academic management.

Entrance Preview

I scored 95 percent in aggregate during my cbse Board Examinations and opted for B.com Honours at DCAC. The reason why I chose Bcom honours was because I had a keen interest in accounts finance and taxation and I wanted to explore these subjects in detail .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

According to me CBCS is an excellent curriculum formulated recently. It allows a student to opt for studies in a subject according to his/her interest as a minor subject . B.com honours covers all the areas and subjects related to HRM,Tax, accounts, finance, economics etc. in a very apt and subtle manner.

Internships Opportunities

Our college has a placement cell - Broadway, which works throughout the academic year by providing internships and placements to the students . The general stipend varies from 5000- 15000 Per month and the overall experience during the course of internships is definitely a new and learning one.

Placement Experience

4

The placements and job opportunities are really good but they can be improved upon . Companies like EY , KPMG, Urbanclap ,Axis risk consultancy , S and p global etc. recruit from our college . And the average CTC as per the annual report has been Rs 3.5 Lakhs P.a

College Events

5

Dcac has an amazing cultural life . The departmental fest and the annual cultural fest ambrosia are a good break from the regular course of studies . Various eminent personalities like Varun Dhawan, Yami gautam , Guru Randhawa etc have been a part of the fest. The fest experience a footfall of about 5000-1000 students.Apart from this , it offers a great learning experience in management to the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible as it is working under a government body . On an average, students can complete their graduation at a minimal cost of Rs 7000- 10000 yearly. Scholarships and financial aid are also offered to students from low income groups, thus overall the fee structure is quite feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know about it but I do know that the college does offer some concession to such students. The students are supposed to fill a firm for the same and post that they can receive the scholarship or concession.

Campus Life

3

The campus life at DCAC is something to be cherished for a lifetime . You enter here as a school pass out ..and leave as a completely groomed individual . The societies , opportunities offer great endeavours to students to explore themselves. The college has a Girls common room for girls . The gender ratio is at par. DCAC believes in secularism and does not tolerate any kind of ragging or discrimination .

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Unfortunately , DCAC does not have a hostel facility but there are a lot OF PG's nearby . The average rental varies would be around Rs 1000 per month . This includes facilities like providing a room with electricity , food etc. However the quality and taste of food is below par and needs to be improved drastically .

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors are very helpful and supportive to the juniors. They guide us as to how to go about in the future and the further course of action. As they have been there and done that , they are great at helping us in our personal goal setting.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is well planned and executed and not that hectic. However at times towards the end of the session, it can get a little hectic as the teachers have to complete the course quickly. The lab classes are really interesting and enchanting.

Admission

Basically, admission to most of the DU colleges is on a cut off basis ,it was in the 4th cut off list that I secured a seat at DCAC. The admission was open for 3 days and the process included , procuring the admission form from the administration office , filling the details , paying the fees and finally securing a seat at the college. It was a cumbersome process and took almost 2 days to be completed. The administration was a little haphazard , but friendly at the same time ( although it could have been much better).

Faculty

4

The faculty of college is good . There are some teachers who are exceptionally excellent when it comes to teaching , however the faculty also includes teachers who can still teach and provide better inputs to both students and the college. The college is known for it's journalism course and is considered to be one of the best at it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
