You can enjoy the college spring fest which is one of the India's biggest fest. SF is a 2-3 days fest. All kind of dramas, dance, entertainment, sports events, etc. take place here.

Basically admission to any IIT is taken on merit rank based on JEE-advanced exam , for which the particular student need to clear his/her jeen mains exam.

IITs are meant to be created for research purpose.There are lots of modern laboratory in every department equipped with lots of modern devices which you will not get easily in other engineering colleges. Coming to my course there is lots of opportunities in so many fields. You can have your research in core mathematics like Number theory,linear algebra and Complex analysis. You can have research in other advanced field like data mining ,cryptography and networks ,operation research and others .

Yes, my college provides internship. but, in order to get an internship by Career Development Cell of the college, one has to have good grades (CG 6 or 7 above). if yes, then there are vast opportunities. Ypu can go for core as well as non-core internships. Many of the interns get PPO from the same firm after internships. It all depends on how well you perform in internship. well, steepened depends on firm to firm ranging from (10k to 200k) per month.

Placements : I am specifying about the seniors of my department. The placements in the core department were not very good. Out of 60 students, only 9 preferred to go for core. Most of the others went for Machine Learning and Data Analytics. The average salary was 9 lakhs per annum, the maximum was 19 lakhs per annum, and not placed was the minimum. Major companies in core field were Schlumberger, Tata and semiconductor companies. Out of every 5 students of the college, only 2 got the official internships from the college. The rest were trying on their own. The highest was 3 lakhs per month (computer science students) and nil was the lowest.

Spring Fest (our cultural fest) In spring fest many teams from all over India came to IIT Kharagpur to participate various event conducted on campus. - Kshitiz (Our Tech. fest) - Also every department has its own fest,like civil has Meghalith, Agriculture department has Parthvi Ocean has SumudarManthan - and many more

We have about 200000 annual tuition fee.(If your family Income is below 100000 it is paid by government If above 100000 and below 500000, 60 percent of tuition fee is paid by government). Our other fees is about 70000 which includes mess plus hostel plus medical Insurance and other fee.

There is a scholarship called MCM scholarship. it pays all your tution fees for college, if u qualify the Grade criteria. also, one can apply for scholarships externally. Also, there is a SBI within campus, which is there to provide loans to the students. But, the rates are not so attractive.

It was good in extracurriculars tooo...there are trainers for every perspective.

Hostel facilities are superb.the selection of rooms is purely based on our choice .For initial 1-2 year in b.tech you will have to share rooms.Once you are in 4th or final year there is option to get single room.Mess is totally privatised and food are good enough. We get food of different cusine .We get to decide our own menu in the meeting which are held in the common room in the hostel.

Yes, they are really helpful as i am also an Alumni. Seniors really helps opens we need some feedback about works our about companies, even some times for personal life also they will be helpful.

There is semester based exams in IIT Kharagpur, means average if we take a semester of four month, means two exam in one semester plus class test. If we talk about lab, on an average there are 3-4 labs in every weak (every lab is of 3-4 hours) and every lab treated as exam. Exams are very frequent with a hectic day.

The faculty members are knowledgeable and the best among all. The kind of knowledge they possess is worth seeking. The course curriculum is comprehensive although very hectic, still, it is okay. Very good extracurricular environment. We get many opportunities here. All the faculty members are really helpful and provide every necessary help to get our query clarified. The student to faculty ratio is a bit low here. They provide industry experience too.
