Remarks
The college is one of the best in my state in terms of academics as well as all other fields .They present a field of opportunities for students to develop their skills. Labs and lectures are very good conducted by most qualified faculties. The only negative remark being that most of the better part of college is enjoyed better by the hostelers than the day scholars. Best in standards and academically striving.
Entrance Preview
KEAM(Kerala engineering architecture and medical entrance examination). There were no interviews. I chose btech because engineers play the most important role in building and developing the nation .
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose mechanical engineering because I love machines and I wanted to explore it's world of knowledge. We have theory based lecture classes as well as practical lab works. Although research works are less in our college as compared to IIT s the faculty here support all kinds of initiatives from our part.
Internships Opportunities
No internship programs were provided by the college but occasionally industrial visits were arranged to places like kaiga atomic energy plant.
Placement Experience
College provides placement trainings for students .Placements takes place in the 3rd and 4th year. Around 25% students gets Placements at well-known companies like wipro, tata consultancy Ltd etcetra for salaries ranging from 25000 to 60000
Fee Structure And Facilities
The cost is one of the main attributes because most of the study expenses are handled by the govt .Only a small fee of ₹8250 is charged annually. So it's highly favourable for economically backward students as well
Fees and Financial Aid
College provides some scholarships for students .I am registered for the Central sector scholarship of the Central govt.No education loans were necessary as the fee is very low.
Campus Life
College provides fields for extracurricular activities of which mostly hostelers are able to enjoy compared to day scholars
Hostel Facilities
I'm not a hosteler but many of my friends are and pretty much from what I have heard they are the ones to enjoy college life the most .The rooms are shared by 3 per room having common bathroom. The hostel rate is just ₹3000 per month for rent as well as food.The food although not the best was somewhat good.
Exam Structure
Labs are conducted weekly so it's much less tiresome and all the more very enthusiastic .Also lab exams are much less frequent. Hence our labs form a fun part in our college life.
Faculty
All the professors in the college has doctorates and they are very much best at their work .We feel at ease in opening up to them for queries and doubts and they respond in the most appropriate manner. Teachers ask our opinion before taking any important decisions in class and make us feel that we are a big part of the college.
