Remarks
The college is very compact and we share our boundary with Aryabhatt College.It would be good if we could expand the campus a bit.
Entrance Preview
There was no entrance exam for the undergraduate du admissions and the selection was on the basis of the merit list. All the students who cleared the cutoff marks in their boards for the college got admission in the courses. Maths has always been my favorite subject so I'm doing B.sc Maths Honors from RLA college as I cleared its cutoff.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course in the first year is Calculus and algebra which is a higher version of what we studied in class 12th. Moreover, I have opted for Stats in my GE and EVS is compulsory. Both stats and maths are closely related and the college gives research grants to students who are interested on researching on a particular topic.
Internships Opportunities
The college didn't provide any internship officially but under the banner of the DU we are able to take part in internships offered by other colleges with no stipend amount and only certificates.
Placement Experience
There are only a few campus selection opportunities after college and the students prefer to go for higher studies or other Government job exams.Students who take jobs after graduation can only earn upto 25000 per month in private companies.
College Events
Since Maths has been introduced as a subject this very year so any society relating to it hasn't been formed. However, we can participate in fests of other colleges of DU.We had a freshers party organized by the seniors and not the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is around 10,000 per year which is very cheap considering the private colleges.This does not include the exam fees which we have to pay separately around 900rs at the time of exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships for poor students or those coming from specific part of the county such as UP or Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, book grants are also provided.
Campus Life
The college has all societies such as music,dance, drama, debating etc. all of which are quite active. As I'm still getting used to the new course and college life I haven't participated in any society yet but will surely do it in future.
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel facility within the college and mostly the students opt for PGs nearby which amount to aprrox 13000 Rs including food. The rooms are minimum two sharing and maximum 5.THe food quality in very poor in the PGs.
Alumni/Alumna
We are the first maths batch in our college so the alumni network for Maths is not there. However, I interacted with some seniors regarding the college and academics personally. But there was no such platform where the students get to meet a chance the alumni of other streams too.
Exam Structure
The internals are held almost every month and in December we have our main externals. The lab facility is not good as we haven't had a single lab period in calculus which is extremely important.
Faculty
The teachers and professors are very qualified and try to provide attention to each student. However, considering the vast course they have to rush through it and many students fail to cope up.
