- I didn't like the frequency of exams here, they are conducted almost every week...
- Because of which the schedule becomes so tight and hectic sometimes
- and I don't like few boys hostels which are very bad and old to stay although girls are given good hostels
Course Curriculum Overview
My course aerospace engineering is an interesting field in iitb. it gives a lot of research opportunities on campus. there are many tech teams that we can join and get hands-on experience. faculty is also very good and highly experienced. faculty-student ratio is 15:1 to 20:1. they teach well but some profs just teach and go,. whereas some profs take care that a maximum of students understand. exams will be conducted twice a semester, one is mid sem and the other is end sem. but there will be quizzes in between the courses which are random but planned beforehand by professors. and all the exams are counted towards cpi.
Internships Opportunities
in the beginning years very less companies come. which provide very less stipend to students. stipend ranging from 5k to 50k. since I have recently finished my first year doesn't have much data bout internships and placements. but as my seniors told me, DRDO also comes for hiring.
Placement Experience
students in the fourth year are eligible for campus placements. 250+companies visited and 1200+offers given to students. the highest package is offered to cse students with the highest package going to 3.4 cr per annum this year. and the average package goes to 25 LPA. 85% + students get placed overall (including btech ane mtech). but if we speak of only btech students then 90%+ get placed from campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
fee at iitb for ug students is 2.75 lakhs per annum. tuition fee goes like 2 lakhs per year and the rest hostel and mess fee. I personally have taken a loan to pay my fee from Canara Bank which is in iitb campus itself. rate of interest is 8.8% per annum. if the parent's income is low then scholarships are also provided once an academic year, and the scholarship's worth goes 1 to 2 lakhs per year. iitb has an 85% of job guarantee because many companies come to campus for placements. CSE students get hired very quickly and are highly paid compared to others. average salary is 20-25 lakhs per annum. fo ug students.
Campus Life
Campus life is beautiful, There is Sameer hill and Powai lake inside the campus. It is 500+ acres spread. Complete greenery can be found in the institute. Clubs institute technical council, hostel affairs, institute cultural council, entrepreneurship-cell, mood indigo, NCC, devcom, educational outreach, tech fest, abhyuday, finance club, sustainable social development, and many more the list doesn't end here. Big gymkhana ground with separate courts for each sport. The library has more than a lakh books well organized and easy to access any time in a week. A 24/7 reading hall for students with ac facilities. Very large classrooms with capacities varying from 350 students to 40 students.
Admission
To get into IIT Bombay for BTech. we need to clear Jee's mains followed by Jee's advanced with the required rank. and then accordingly participate in the josaa counseling. after which the confirmation of the seat will be done. You can check the previous year's cut-off for category and general on josaa's official website. Reservation categories are obc-ncl, sc, st, pwd, and girls reservation.
