What Students Say

Likes

Architecture, Library, various societies.
Almost everyone gets placed with a decent package.
It is nice. Alumni is good. Faculty is reachable beyond teaching hours. Events are well.

Dislikes

The fees is absurdly high for middle class students.
Placement rules are strict and not favourable.
All the events are organised around the end sem examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was interested in CSE, and thus took the said course. Not sure, but I guess 1:40, All the faculty are well qualified and have completed their doctorate from reputed universities. Teaching method varies from teacher to teacher. Students should also give 100% to the teacher for effective learning. Once in three months, medium difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

SDE (Software Development Engineering) - DE SHAW, Salesforce, JP Morgan Chase. Many companies are coming as off-campus opportunities, which we are regularly informed of. Eg. Flipkart Grid, Cisco Code-a-thon.

Placement Experience

It depends on various branches, usually, it's from the 7th semester. I am still determining. DE SHAW came for 3rd-year internships but went without any offer. 40 LPA, it was off-campus Amazon, and Barclays offers. Almost everyone gets placed. There are some hard rules during placement season though. I will be determined to get a placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees vary from branch to branch. CSE has the highest fee among all. There are two main times of scholarships, Merit cum Means - people who need help in paying the fees, I guess it's for people with a 10 lpa income or less. Second, is Merit scholarship, purely on merit on various criteria.

Campus Life

Saturnalia is the annual cultural fest, in October end. Murda eve is the annual cultural event in March. Urja is the annual sports festival, in February. Thapar's Library is an architectural masterpiece. It is beautiful with all types of books. Classrooms are well-made with projectors and smartboards. Swimming, Lawn Tennis, Table tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Volleyball. Litsoc, Econ, EDC, MLSC, Toastmaster, Thapar Mun, etc.

Admission

There was no entrance exam. Admissions were made on JEE percentile and class 12th Board results. www.admission.thapar.edu is the official site, all the information could be found on this site.

MY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT MY COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students become eligible for the placements and they should not have any backolgs or reappers in the exam and they should have morethan then 5 cgpa . as i am from the 2nd yeari donot know more aboutm the placement offered made but the average packagr is 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annual and around 70 to 80 percent of students are get selected in placement . and planns after getting the degree is to do higher studies in aerospace designing in the aircrafts.

Why I chose LPU ?

Placement Experience:

Here, the placement drive starts at the beginning of the 5th semester and goes till the end of the 8th semester. Here, all MNC like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini, and many other companies come to our campus for hiring. In the very last year 2 students got selected with a prestigeous 2.5cr & 1 cr packages.

All about my college

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placement. Either they get internship or they get placement offers . Number of companies visited are more than 50. I will give some examples of some best companies like google , microsoft, accenture, virtusa, lenovo , Paypal, shadii. Com , JP morgan and many more other good companies visit to our college. Highest package last year was 52 lakh and the average package was 6 lakhs . More than 70 percent Student are getting placement. My plans after the degree is to get a good job in a good company

An honest Insight of my college LPU

Placement Experience:

The course curriculum should be rated on how useful and complete it is. A good one covers all important topics like Software , Networking , Automata , SQLetc. it is mix theory and practical work . For CSE studendent there are coding laguage like C++ in 3rd sem and DSA in 4th semester.

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More
