Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum at IITB offers a comprehensive and well-structured approach that equps students witha solid foundation in their chosen field. Personally, Ichose EP with the aim of nurturing my passion in physics, a fine balance between theoritical and practical applications, prepares student well to face real-worl problems. The faculty memebers undoubteldly are highly knowledgeable in their respective domains however, it's worth nothing that while many profs excel in knowledge, there is a room of improvement in terms of effective teaching methodologies. Only a handful of them truly stands as exceptional educators who can convey comples subjects with clarity and enthu comparable to meomarable jee teachers. For some courses, facultu-to-student ration is not meaningfull. In some courses it's like 370 to 400 is to 1.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are many companies which visit the institute in summers and winters for jobs as well as internships. Internships are also of various types. and offer a decent amount. Many time the person get interned in company X and later also gets placed in the same company.

Placement Experience

4

IITB attracts a wide range of top-tier companies from various industries during its placement season. Companies like Google, Microsoft, TCS, Amazon and many more dream companies visits here. So, generally, placement is sorted for each individual. The highest and average package increases each year and varies significantly depending on the role, industry, branch of student and of course. The highest package reaches crores while the average package is nearly around 25lpa these years. The percentage of students applying for placement is low and those getting placed is significantly high (approx >=90%).

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees per semester (hostel + acads+other)119100 mess fess per semester 22500 These are for UGs. There are certain scholarships too, each has different criteria. Additionally, jobs from campus are another revenue for students to offset expenses. The institute provides various internships, part-time employment opportunities within the campus, such as research assistantships, Teaching assistantships and other roles. These jobs are good for skill development.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at IITB is an enriching experience that goes beyond acads fostering growth, friendship, and diverse interests. The campus is teaming with vibrant social life, a plethora of clubs and impressive infra. The annual cultural fests, Mood Indigo held yearly in dec end is a colourful extravaganza that celebrates art, music and more. The techFest takes place in Dec or Jan yearly showcasing cutting-edge tech and innovation through competitions workshops and exhibitions. The library at IITb is a treasure for any learner. Offers an extensive collection of books, journals, and research papers. It's a hub of academic exploration and study, catering to a wide range of disciplines. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, including audio-visual facilities, enabling interactive and engaging lectures. These state-of-the-art facilities the overall acdemic enviornment.

Hostel Facilities

2

Freshers' hostel rooms are clean and very spacious and clean. But senior hostels are very very very bad, terrible, can't express it in words here. The rooms are very small, not clean at all. Hostel's mess offers good quality cheap food during the initial days of every semester and tries to degrade their food quality as much as they can. That's why each hostel has its own canteen where you can pay and get good food. The locality of each hostel is very good since the powai lake and Sameer hills are inside the campus so the campus is lush green throughout and clean too. Electric vehicles are their on the campus and can drop us off anywhere within the campus for just 10 Rs per ride per person.

Admission

The admission process for IIT Bombay was an exciting yet challenging journey. I embarked on the path of engineering excellence with unwavering determination. The first step was to tackle the world's second hardest exam-JEEAdvanced, which tests not only my knowledge but also my problem-solving skills and time management. Preparing for the exam was a roller-coaster of emotions and late-night study sessions. I dedicated countless hours to mastering concepts- especially in maths, and solved pyqs a lot- I bet each at least 2 times; some even up to 10. Sought guidance daily from teachers and mentors. The application process was straightforward, involving online registration-JOSAA, uploading necessary documents after round 6 which included 12 and 10 marksheet, character certificate, TC and payment of fees. As results were announced, the feeling of relief was indescribable. The seat allocation further heightened the anticipation. And finally got a seat offer letter from IIT Bombay- My dream college!

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
