Course Curriculum Overview
This course appealed to me because it had a high cutoff, which indicated its quality and popularity. I also had a keen interest in the subject matter. The faculty to student ratio is very favorable, at about 1:7. The faculty members are well-qualified and have done their M Tech from prestigious institutions. They teach well, although they use odia as the medium of instruction. I can understand them, but it is not the same as the coaching institutes. The exams are conducted on time and follow the blooms taxonomy, which tests different levels of learning.
Placement Experience
The campus placement process starts from the end of the fifth semester for the students. Many reputed companies like Amazon, Accenture, TCS, Cisco and others come to recruit the students and offer them attractive packages. The highest package offered was 18 LPA, the average package was 5.6 LPA and the lowest package was 3.5 LPA. Almost all the students (98%) got placed successfully. After completing their degree, some students opt for higher studies like M. Tech or MBA, while some others prepare for civil service exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The benefits of studying at this university are many. First of all, the cost is very affordable compared to other options. You will pay less than what you spend on Jee coaching classes. Moreover, the fees are fixed by the government, so there is no risk of sudden increases. You can complete your four-year degree in a self-sustaining course for less than 4 lakhs. Other courses are even cheaper, costing less than 2 lakhs in total. Secondly, the university offers a generous scholarship scheme for meritorious students. Every year, the top 10% of students from each branch receive 10000 rupees as a reward for their hard work and excellence. This can help you reduce your financial burden and motivate you to perform better.
Campus Life
XTASY is the name of the annual fest that takes place in April. It is a time to celebrate the academic achievements and the cultural diversity of the students. The course books are abundant and easily accessible. There is a well-equipped reading room with air conditioning for comfortable studying. The classrooms are of different types, some with smart boards and others with traditional blackboards. The students can enjoy various sports facilities and participate in regular tournaments on the spacious ground. The extra curricular activities are not very frequent, but they offer a chance to explore different skills and hobbies. The club culture is vibrant and diverse, with many active clubs catering to different interests and passions.
Admission
I got admission in CSE branch through OJEE counseling, which is conducted for candidates who have qualified JEE Mains. The rank required for CSE was around 60000 in JEE Mains, which is quite competitive. The application form for OJEE counseling is available on the official website of OJEE. The counseling process is similar to Josaa, which is the central seat allocation authority for IITs, NITs and other institutes. I found the admission process to be smooth and hassle-free.
