Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course due to my enthusiasm for computer science. I appreciate the effort that the teachers make. They care about the concept understanding of the students and improve the student's analyzing power. Our semester exams are held every six months. Those exams are based on our understanding and applications of the concepts. These exams are cleared only by the students who have clarity of the concepts taught.

Class Size: 180Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the BTech course are quite reasonable. This course costs nearly 1.2 lac per year. Our college also offers many kinds of scholarships in order to educate bright students with impoverished backgrounds.

Campus Life

Campus Life is quite fun. Fests are held twice a year. The annual fest is known as MaJIStic which is held in April. The tech fest is held in September. There are numerous clubs. A student can join multiple clubs according to his/her interest. Intra and inter-college sports are also conducted.

Admission

I'm currently pursuing a computer science and engineering btech degree from JIS College of Engineering. The admission process was totally based on my wbjee rank and 12th marks. Our college also gives admission based on 12th boards merit.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I choose this college because this college was good in among all the average colleges in West Bengal leaving the top colleges. The placement is also good. So for all this reason I choose this college. I wanted to go for heritage but my name didn't came in cutoff.
