Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to choose the CSE stream, but at that time all the seats were full, so I had to take admission in CST as that's the only remaining CS stream. The faculties are well educated. Term exams are not in a proper timely manner.

Class Size: 34Course Fees: INR 4700000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

With every passing year, the fee structure of every department increases by 30%. Currently, I'm in my 2nd year, so haven't got any jobs yet. I don't actually know why the course fees increase each year.

Campus Life

All books as per our curriculum and syllabus are available in the college book bank and the library. Back in April, the college's annual fest took place and that was really lovely. Our college has good extracurricular clubs.

Admission

I took direct admission to this college on the basis of my Higher Secondary results and I had more than 70% in PCM, so I guess that's the cut-off when you're taking a direct admission based on your board's results.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

THERE ARE FAR BETTER OPTIONS

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

I choose this college because this college was good in among all the average colleges in West Bengal leaving the top colleges. The placement is also good. So for all this reason I choose this college. I wanted to go for heritage but my name didn't came in cutoff.
