My journey till date :)

So to wrap up i would like to say that my college is good in every aspect be it faculty,infrastructuaral or societies. One can live their college life in the best possible and enjoy in the college. I have made a right decision in coming and pursue my studies in the ZAKIR HUSAIN DELHI COLLEGE.

I didn't give any entrance exam to get into this college neither they conduct any entrance exams for the admissions. I passed my 12th class from CBSE board in 2017 and scored 89.25% in my best four subjects. So,i got admission in this college in the 2nd cut off. I was uncertain intially to continue with this college but later i got to know about the history and importance of this college. It is affliated under Delhi University and i always wanted to be in a reputed college of DU. Admission procedure in this college was not a difficult task ,one had to submit the documents given by CBSE in their respective schools. So ,I put it frankly i opted Zakir Husain Delhi College for it's prestige and historical importance in DU.

At present, im pursuing my bcom hons degree in this college.To my understanding and observation the course is quite vast. Each semester has 4 different subjects together with Aecc ie ability enhancement compulsory course and one generic subject with 2 main core subjects. Generic consists of various courses for which a student is free to opt at the time of filling admission form. Bcom hons has got vast syllabus for students like one has to study in depth of a particular topic unlike Bcom. So on and all the course for bcom hons lays down each and every topic in a systematic manner and in a detailed way. Accounting and laws is being studied simulataneously so that one can attain a true picture and knowledge of a day to day business. Generic and Aecc also enables a student to enhance their overall development and personality.

Yes,my college has a seprate placement cell which has got more than 20 students as a part of it. Various internship drives and campaigns are conducted in the college. Many reputed companies like Tata Powers,IDBI bank,Paytm,Convergys have recruited students from final year in my college. I was a part of internship with paytm that came into college and i was given a campus ambassdor position there. It was non-paid internship but i got job offer and experience letter there.

Many big and reputed companies came into the college for internships and placements. Some of them were Tata powers,RBS,paytm,cocentrix,icici bank,ibdi bank etc. Paytm came into the college in the month of september with a motive of enabling students to do on the job training. They gave students an app in which students had to do KYC of the customers. For every succesfull KYC they recieved ₹15 as a stipend in their paytm wallet. Recently,IDBI bank came and offered final year students of Bcom hons job at their office in Noida. They were given 2.4k package. Interview was conducted in the college only and selected candidates recieved call from Hr of IDBI bank. So, one has got various job opportunities here with ample number of companies for internships and placements. Job fair is also being conducted in the college where more than 30+ companies are invited for the students from all colleges of DU.

Various events are conducted in the college on monthly basis. Internships drive,commerce society fests,photography contests,dramatics socitey programmes etc are being organised in the college. Union Fest is also being organised in which celebrity is invited. Other cultural programmes are organised in the college auditorium where students gathers for the show. College freshers was also organised in a tremendous manner with full enthusiasm by the students with dance,singing and play performances in the college auditorium. So, on and all college is quite commendable in its events aspects.

As my college comes under DU so it has got a very feasible fee structure. A nominak fees is being charges by the university together with the examination form fees. Fees is being paid on annual basis on the official portal of DU. So,fee structure is quite affordable and feasible for students.

College provides scholarships to the top scorers of various courses. It also avails the facility of bus passes to the students so that they can travel for free in the DTC buses.

College has got a good proportionate gender ratio. There are almost equal number of girls with respect to boys. My college is off campus so one cannnot enjoy other college visits. There are various societies like dramtics,photography,singingand dance. All this provides an opportunity to the student to enhance their overall development in his/her expertise field. Basketball and cricket team is also there in the college which gives rise to sports enthusiasm and spirit in the students to play for the college. There is no gender or religion inequality in the college despite being a muslim college. This is the best thing about my college and a speciality of it.

My college dosen't provides hostel facilities to the students. But to my understanding and observation a new underground building is being made in the college maybe college will have hostel facility there.It might take 3 years to complete the construction of that building.

Seniors are amazing and helpful.They treat us like their smalk brothers and sisters and guides in the best possible manner. I have many friends from 3rd year of bcom hons and they are really genuine and helpful. So,on and all seniors are fantastic of my department.To put it honestly,im not much aware of other courses.

Labs are quite huge with ample number of benches. It has got near about 70-75 gathering of students. So, it was quite chilled out atmosphere there. No chaos was there and every thing worked out in a systematic manner. Exam structure is quite easy and systematic because each and every task is done under proper survilleance. To wrap up,i would say exam structure is also good of the college.

Initially i had to fill an online application form on the official website of Delhi University. The form consisted various courses so one had to tick mark the courses he/she wished to do. After filling the form online with full details the next step was online payment of 200 rupees. This procedure was done before releasing the DU cut offs. After DU released it cut offs, i accordingly checked for the colleges in which i was able to get admission. Then,after deciding college i was required to take out the print out of the form which i had filled earlier with the college name on it. I was also required to accompany my marksheets of 10th and 12th standards together with migration and character certificates. It was to be submited in the college and then fees was to be paid online on the official portal of Delhi University. Administration also co-operated with students and tried their best possible way to get the students into the college and complete their admission procedure.

The college faculty is very much strict and particular about their syllabus and courses. Every professor gives their best in the class to let the students understand each topic thoroughly in the lecture itself. No proxies are allowed in the lecture. If a student is found to do so then they are expelled from that lecture. Most of the professors are highly qualified with Phd degree. Professors try their level best to connect with the students in each and every aspects. Administration of the college is very much punctual and smooth in its working. All workings are done in a systematic manner without any chaos. Seprate notice boards are fitted into the college for the students and staff. So,to put it honestly college faculty is good in its every aspect of workings and teaching.
