Roller coaster Ride

Mumbai is place of all time awake people. I and my friends have enjoyed many fun days at college, went for night outs in Mumbai. I am living a life that I always wanted. This college gave me such opportunity to do such. I would say college is good enough for a Btech course and when you to stay in city like Mumbai then and enjoy social life then its best.

I took admission in the college from my JEE Mains results. Students should have either appeared for MHT-CET or JEE Mains if they want to take admission here, like some of my friends gave MHT-CET unlike me. Only 15% seats are there for JEE Mains category. I had heard of this college from one my relatives and they are well-placed now, so I thought of taking admission here. I didn't give any interview as admission was purely merit based.

I am in the Computer Science branch and I can say that our course curriculum is very detailed Some friends of mine don't like it, but I like it. We have various labs like, Data Structure Labs, Unix Labs which help students to improve their basics and so that they can do various projects later on. Our college also offers doctoral programs so I am sure some research initiatives are undertaken, but I don't know the details.

Our college doesn't provide internship directly so students have to find it on their own, however there are other events/workshops that are regularly conducted that help students to fetch some great internships. Like, few months ago Accenture Career Day was celebrated which helped students to get information about Accenture. We have an "Sinhgad Overseas Cell"as well.

Our college is very active in terms of organising great Events as there are various ones being organized throughout the year, like Techtonic which had more than 50 sub events under its ambit, like workshops/seminars/ online events/ on-site events. There is a The Spoken Tutorial project too, which gets the support of IIT Bombay. Our teachers tell us that, it is a free certification course and helps in getting placements. Many of our students go to other colleges for participating in the events and have won various prizes. Our college events witness a footfall in thousands and all this happens because of the support of the college.

There's a different fee structure for every student that depends upon the category one is coming from. Like, students belonging to general category have to pay about Rs. 1 lakh a year and it decreases for other categories.The fee is lower when compared to other private institutes in the city but it still might not be affordable for many parents. It's little less than affordable for my parents so I am studying here on a strict budget.

I have no idea if there's any scholarship program offered by our college as I haven't availed any. Even my friends don't have scholarships so I cannot comment upon it. My family arranged for the finances on their own and I don't think the college provides any help with the loan.

I feel very happy to tell you that my college is very encouraging, when it comes to ECA activities. We have various societies in the college like, Dramatics societies, Sports societies, Dance society and all. I explored almost all of them in my first year and I enjoyed it a lot. The college management provides all the support required for these activities, for example, Cricket ground, Athletics Ground among other facilities. It all depends on students, as in how do they wish to utilize it.

I am not residing in the hostel but my friends are residing in the hostel. The rooms are available on double and triple sharing basis and the fee is about Rs. 60000. There are various PGs around the college and its charges varies. The food is average in the hostel as well as in PGs.

My interaction with my seniors is great. Our college is very active in term of alumni engagement as it hosts an annual alumni meet in the month of February and a proper working committee is formed for the same. The working committee for Alumni association has students as teachers from all departments. As of now, our alumni association has more than 10000 members.

We do have labs and exams but it isn't that tiring and not that chill culture either.

Our faculty is very experienced, like, few of them have experience of more than 20 years and others mostly have an experience of atleast 10 years. Overall faculty cannot be commented upon as the experience of the student varies with every faculty. I like some of the teachers and I don't like others and its vice-versa at times. Teachers are mostly available and if anybody wishes to contact any unknown teacher of any other departments, then they are free to contact them via emails (as available on the college website) and can personally meet them as well.
