Remarks

College is managed by Human resource development department of Kerala Govt. Reaching to the management is very difficult. Getting permissions is a head ache.

Entrance Preview

Kerala Engineering and Medical Entrance examination Scored a rank of 7153. Had always dreamt of becoming a Software engineer. Joined the course with great passion.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course consisted of all normal engineering subjects. First year was a combined first and second semesters with common subjects for all streams. From third semester onwards, course focusses on computer science and Electronics related subjects. Electives included Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Computing etc.

Internships Opportunities

There were no internship offers, but direct placement offers.I was placed in 3 companies. Initial salary offered ranged from 3 - 6 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Tata Elxsi, Oracle etc has taken our students.

Placements are good. Students are getting chance to attend about 10 company placements based on the elligibility. infosys, accenture, oracle, tata elxsi, onemobile, next etc came to college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure follows Kerala government structures. highly feasible for Merit students and Ok for management students. NRI students fee is very high. But fee structure changes every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Central government scholarships are easily available.There are limited number of scholarships that are given through colleges.Getting to know about scholarships is our own concern.

Campus Life

Extra curricular activities were awesome.All kinds of campus activities were carried outs. Gender ratios were almost 50 50 except in Mechanical Engineering.

Hostel Facilities

No hostel and bad canteen. We can get private houses for rent.Environment is not much student friendly. Neighbouring families will not be very happy with students.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Not a good alumni. Alumnis are only in facebook. College does not make any moves to create a good alumni network. but students has their own network and friendship batches.

Exam Structure

Examination is conducted with Cochin university standards.Exams will be little difficult and unpredictable. but if you study the syllabus, you will pass.

Faculty

College follows UGC standards and faculty had required qualifications. Fresher teachers or also were of high quality teaching.Guest lecturers were hired in between.It was a combination of experienced and inexperienced teachers.Lab faculty was also good.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

My college, college of Engineering Adoor

I choose this college because it was the best college in my area and I wanted to stay near my house. I applied to a lot of colleges like CET, Barton Hill and I am got admission there but I didn't go. I wanted to stay near my parents. Which was a good decision. I got into all the colleges I gave but I choose this college. When comparing with other Colleges , my college doesn't have much campus area or the strength, or that much exposure but it had heart and a bunch of really good facutilies. The admission process is like this After 12th you have to write KEAM , you have to qualify that is 12 marks and according to your rank you can get seats here. Merit seats - below 25k Management seat- above 25k You have to apply online and after the allotment you can come to the college and complete the admission, the faculty and the senior students will help u through this process. My review about College of Engineering, Adoor

The admission process is mainly by entrance exam and there is also management quota.The fees for management quota is almost double than the merit quota. The allotment process is done through the KTU University portal and college is allotted according to the rank of the entrance exam.There is a fee of 10000 should be paid to the University, if you got a merit admission with a fee of 35000 period year. The admission process takes around 3 to 5 hours at the allotted college. We have to fill the application, other consents, etc....Read More
