CEE-ASSAM 2013 score: 125/300I opted this college because I wanted to take ECE and it seems this ECE is quite good in this college and also because it's near to my home.
Course Curriculum Overview
In the first year we had common subjects like physics, chemistry, maths and even biology. We also had language speaking skills subject and a subject on programming language (like CFP, DFS etc.). From 2nd year onwards we had branch subjects and it mostly included signals, network theory, basic electronics, control systems, microprocessor etc.
Internships Opportunities
So far our college has not offered for internships.But some organizations came to conduct workshops in our campus like Network Bulls in collaboration with EDC IIT Kanpur, Brigosha Technologies etc.
Placement Experience
As our college is comparatively new i.e. established on 2009 so placement isn't 100% yet but it keeps growing every year.As of now we have tie-ups with other colleges and our students go there to seat for campusing. Package varies from 3lacs/annum to 5.5lacs/annum and this year 2 students got 8lacs/annum. Some of the companies where our students got placed are IBM, L&T, Jaloni, Capgemini etc
College Events
We organize 2 major events viz Gauhati University Techfest, IST Sports week and apart from these there is Youth fest and Varsity week. All these events are huge and students from many colleges attend or participate in these.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Even semester: ?17700/-Odd semester: ?23100/-this amounts to total of ?40800/- per annum which includes all expenses like semester fee, exam fee, lab fee etc, and it is neither very expensive nor very less.
Fees and Financial Aid
No idea, I haven't availed any but I know that there are number of scholarships and loan facility available in our college.
Campus Life
There are a lot of departments in the University and each of them organize their own workshops, cultural fests etc. We have our own student body and their is a a committee for almost everything for eg. Anti ragging, Gym, Cultural, Literacy etc. As GU has over 3000 students so it is hard to comment on the sex ratio but it varies from dept. to dept.
Hostel Facilities
I am not staying at hostel so cannot comment on this. But as far the best of my knowledge the monthly fee for hostel is ?2200/- including all expenses
Faculty
The faculties are good and most importantly they are regular and they pay attention to individual student as the student strength is comparatively less
