The campus is very beautiful. It is full of greenary. There are bridges.
In the campus there are shops for food, stationary etc so that students need not to go outside.
The infrastructure of the college is very good. The buildings are beautifully designed

Dislikes

Since the campus is big, students hace to travel a lot for going from one place to another.

Course Curriculum Overview

This course is a combination of Mathematics and Computer Science. Through this course you can become a Data Scientist, AI, and ML Programmer, and the scope of this branch is increasing day by day. There are about 60 faculty members in the department. The qualification for faculties is a Ph.D. Two times in a semester, exams are held.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 28500 per year

Internships Opportunities

Students can start getting internships from their first year onwards. Some companies give stipends and some do not. Students get internships through their skills and accordingly, they can apply for internships in different companies.

Placement Experience

In the fourth year(7th semester) students become eligible for campus placements. Various tech companies and core companies visited the college for the placements. Different companies offer different packages ranging from 6 lakh to 55 lakh or more.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees are zero for SC and ST category students and also for students whose annual income is less than 1 lakh. For the students whose family income is between 1 to 5 lakh, there is no remission of 2/3 of tuition fees. Turion fees are 62500 per semester for a student whose family income is above 8 lakh. Apart from that there are opportunities for scholarships also.

Campus Life

Hill Fair and Nimbus are the annual fest conducted in October and April. There is a library where you can find most of the books related to your course. Apart from that E-books are also available. Sports like cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis, Lawn tennis and badminton are played. There are various clubs and societies for different purposes.

Hostel Facilities

In the hostel, students are provided with 4 beds, 4 cupboards, 4 chairs, and 3 tables in a room with a 1 GB wifi facility. The meal is good and it covers items like paneer, pav bhaji, Chole bhature, pulses, snacks like samosa, and sweets like rasgulla.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

A candidate has to clear the JEE MAINS test to get admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JOSAA and CSAB conduct the counseling for the admissions in these institutes. A candidate can find the application form on the official website of NTA. There is a reservation policy for backward sections and economically weaker sections in IITs and NITs.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation. The admission was done by josaa. The admission process was easy. Simply go to their online portal and submit details and required documents. NIT Hamirpur offers more than 30 programmes at UG, PG and doctoral level. Candidates seeking admission to any of these courses must appear for the respective entrance exam and qualify its cutoff. NIT Hamirpur offers a four-year BTech programme across nine specialisations in full-time mode. The selection of candidates to NIT Hamirpurs BTech programme is based on their JEE Main score.
