A GREAT COLLEGE

The college management is really good and are always working for the better opportunities of the students. The placement cell are closely associated with the departmental HOD's to closely monitor the performance of the students and to provide the best placement for them.

After the class 12 examination I took the JEE-MAIN and WBJEE exams. In JEE-MAIN my rank was not that good but in WBJEE I did perform well and took direct admission to this college as this college is really close to my residence and it is one of the most reputed engineering college in the KOLKATA region.

The course curriculum is available in the official website of the college. But after taking admission the course curriculum was also provided from the admission department. The HOD of my department did also send us a course curriculum. In the course curriculum all the details are quite clearly mentioned semester-wise.

The college does provide internship opportunities to all students according to the merit. Our college does also provide Internship opportunities to various foreign universities like AIT Thailand, ITMO St.Petersburg and various other global institutes to provide the students INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE. Some of the internship schemes are stipend. The college also provides an EARN WHILE YOU LEARN opportunity and the students involved are selected by the management.

The placement is really good. I am actually not that much sure about how many of them were placed but there are a pretty lot of them. This year many of our seniors got placed from the core branches like ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL and all the other branches as well.

Every year our college organizes a technical fest titled JISTECH and it is one of the most huge event that is celebrated in our college. All the students are always encouraged by the teachers to take part in the fest either by making projects or by volunteering for various jobs. Our college also organizes an INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE every year along with other cultural festivals like fests and etc.

The fees structure is quiet feasible and it is not at all expensive. We have to pay 44K per semester and at the time of the admission we did have to pay 85K as the college provided us with uniform, stationery and books from the library to be kept through out the semester.

Scholarship facilities are hugely available. Loan facilities are provided from the Punjab National Bank as they are associated with the college. Scholarship are given to those students who are a financially weak and to those whose family income is less than a standard sum.

Campus life is great but it is also a bit strict at times. Our campus has a temple built inside it and it provides a tranquil atmosphere. There are a lot of extracurricular activities that goes on in our college which are organized by the various clubs like- music,sports,photography,art and literature,robotics and science and etc.The gender ratio is 60:40(males:females) as in most of the engineering colleges.

I actually am a novice in this subject as I am neither a hostel nor a p.g resident. But hearing all the experiences from my friends I have come to the view that the hostel environment is quite good, the rooms are quite spacious and food also good. There are also gym facilities for the hostel and mess residents.

The alumni network is quiet good as most of our alumni's are well established both in our country and abroad. The seniors are really helpful as they always help the juniors in all the situations whether inside or outside the college. The seniors were really warm and welcoming when we first came into the college.

The exam structure is 4 exams per year. With 2 semesters each year and 2 internal exam. Although we the first years do not have internal exam as we have FLIPPED LEARNING opportunity in our curriculum and we are awarded marks according to our daily performance in class. The class and lab schedule does leave us tired at the end.

I took direct admission to this college. In terms of admission procedure it was quiet easy due to the cooperation of the admission cell. The first day we went to know about the admission procedure they asked about my class 12 result and my WBJEE rank and said to bring all the documents as I was eligible to take admission in a core branch of engineering as was my ambition.

The faculty of our college is really good and cooperative. They are always regular and if anyone of them is absent substitute teachers are always sent from the department. Hence there is no notion like classes getting cancelled unless there is a legitimate reason for that. The teachers always help us with all kind of problems and takes the best out of us.
