Remarks

The college management is very strict regarding discipline, rules and regulations. The students in the college are in a safe and developed environment as long as they are in the premises. The only complain I have is regarding the food. We aren't allowed to cook inside the dorms or bring outside non vegan food inside the campus. No intoxicating oneself, of caught they'll be fined or even kicked out of the hotel. The ragging is an absolute 0% which is amazing.

Entrance Preview

Enterence exam: Karnataka Common Enterance Test Rank:47000 My course is Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, I chose to do this course as I always wanted to do it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

We have six theory and two lab subject every sem along with many technical and non technical activities in the department as well as college, every subject will be taught by the respective lecturers and tests are being conducted every now and then to stay up to date.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. My college provides internships and jobs as well. They call several companies to the campus to provide us with internships. I myself have done two internships, one in JSW Energy Bellary and another in WCPM Dandeli.

Placement Experience

3

My college brings in more than 50 companies for placement every year that includes TechMahindra, Evive Health, careerPrime, Infosys, Bosch, Sankalp Semiconductor,Cadence, etc which provide jobs which will pay us a stipend or salary up to 6lakh per annum. I myself have been placed in two companies for job, one in Maintec Technologies Bangalore and another in careerPrime Campus Solutions Mysore. Our placement officer is a godsend as he is the reason for more than 50% employed students passing out of the college every year.

College Events

3.5

We have annual sports and athletic meet every year, technical events such as ethical hacking, robotics festival etc and also the annual college fest which is not such big of a deal but every student gets to be a part of as we conduct several pre fest competitions where everyone can participate. We also invite the neighboring colleges to compete with us in such events or sports like football cricket and basketball. Every year a group of students participate in the annual university fest which maybe conducted anywhere in karnataka and this one is a big deal as we compete with more than 150 colleges in several events and we have won several prices every time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is pretty convenient and feasible. The college expenses is 25k per year which includes classroom, lab, bus fair, etc. The tuition fees is 40k per year and is to be paid in less than two installments. The hostel fees is around 50k which included room rent, food, water and electricity. College and tuition fees may vary according to the mode of admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

Government scholarships are available and college recommends the banks to issue loans to the students.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is pretty good as everyone is friendly. Language barrier may cause a little problem. The gender ratio is Approximately 50:50 for sure. Extracurricular activities consist of ethical hacking events, robotic events, cultural event like dance, singing, debate, drama, short film competitions. There is a racial tension between Hindus and Muslims who don't really get together, there are no fights in college as such. The city of shimoga is economically developed. There are no dorm parties as the college is pretty strict about it. All the people I know are pretty straight when comes to sexual orientation. More number of brahmins and vegans in the college hence the college is pretty religious and celebrate the Hindu festival joyfully.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel infrastructure is very good. I'd rate it 7/10. Water and electricity 24*7. The food is pure vegetarian and hence is an issue for non vegetarians like me. The food is alrite 5/10 The total food accommodation fees will be around 50k a year.

Alumni/Alumna

We just conducted our first alumni meet this year, alumni from the first batch of college till the last one came for the celebration! The alumni network is pretty strong and we monthly call an alumni who is well settled with a good job to tell us about his life and everything he went through after college. They are very helpful in guiding us and also in recommending us in their respective companies.

Exam Structure

The exams are pretty chilled out as we are affiliated to the VTU Belgaum, we have 2-3 days Gap between each exam which gives us enough time for revising. We have the practical exams first which are conducted smoothly with 10 students per batch which gives everyone all the apparatus required without any chaos. After 4-5 days of lab exam the thoerys start! The exams are conducted in the class with two students per bench, one from higher semester and one from lower semester but of different branches.

Admission

The KCET allots us the colleges according to the rank we have secured. We can choose the opt for it or wait for the next round, once chosen, print out the admission card and go to the college for the admission process, we will be interviewed and the rest of the admission process is carried out.

Faculty

3.5

Every faculty member holds a M.Tech degree in their respective teaching subjects. They are well spoken and have a great authority over the subject. They not only lecture us on the subject but also give us a chance to give seminars on them. They are experts in their field of interest and make sure everyone in the class are equipped with all the knowledge necessary.
