Remarks

The University is an open book. The studies are good, a place to find some of the best friends who encourages you, the best alumni and the best of all the infrastructure. I had a great experience at Goenka. I am going to graduate in like a month from the university and I have already started missing it. So you can guess the experience we have at this place.

Entrance Preview

I have given an online exam of the university and then appeared for an interview with the Director of Admissions. My 12th marks played an important role in being selected.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum at G D Goenka is good. The curriculum for the particular semester is pre-defined at the start of the semester. Every year we have an elective between the main course subjects. Apart from that the Inter Disciplinary Project plays an important role in getting the students understand what exactly is needed by them and select from the various options provided to them and then working on it for a semester. In this way at the end of the studies student will have a minimum of projects equal to the number of semesters they had in the university.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides internships in good companies. But again it is with the students how they have given the interview. The University is also implementing few extra classes from this year to improve the aptitude and interview skills of the students to get better results. The general stipend for two to six months of internship is between 5K to 15K. But some companies give the training to students hence they generally don't pay. In the University there is a special placements team to look after this. It's good overall.

Placement Experience

4

The university has a special cell for the Campus Placements. They are faculty who are completely into getting the best companies possible. Although last year some of the top most MNC's declined to come for the placements directly to the college because they have norms saying that the university should have at least 2-3 out going batches the faculty managed to arrange the pools. We had IBM pool last year and few students got selected for it. The package was something around 3.5Lac per annum. We had Lutron, Boston Analytics and many people have joined Boston as well. The package at Boston was around 5.5Lac CTC. We had many more companies last year and since there are two outgoing batches this year we are expecting for top MNC's to turn upto the Univerity.

College Events

4

The university organizes some of the best events any student want to experience in their student life. We have Fresher's, Diwali Mela during the time of Diwali, Acceleron the Annual University Fest, Sportopia the Sport's fest and many more events. For the technical, we have REDSET the National Conference for the School of Engineering. Every other school had their own conferences and events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is okay. It's not too high but on the other side of the coin it is not even feasible for a normal living people. But it''s worth the pay because of the infrastructure, teaching and experiences. But if you are good at studies you have an opportunity to gain scholarships and reduce the burden of fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have personally availed scholarship at the beginning of the course. Depending on the 12th marks, online exam and the personal interview you are provided with the internship. I had my scholarship for the first two semesters. You have to maintain a very good percentile to continue the scholarship. Apart from the merit scholarship, you can also avail scholarships on the basis of sports, Haryana domicile, etc. I had a few friends who have taken the loan. So it's pretty clear that student can avail for loan as well.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus provides a ragging-free environment. And we have a good gender ratio to mention. And there is never a discrimination. I have experienced a great diversity in the campus because not only students from several parts of India are present in the university but students from abroad are also there who have come to take up the exchange program. We have an annual sports event Sportopia where several groups from within the university along with groups from other universities compete. We also have a GPL(Goenka Premium League) for cricket lovers and some times we do organize it for Football. There are some or the other best workshops that take place within and also outside the university.

Hostel Facilities

5

We have a hostel within the campus. I stayed at hostel during my studies and I should say that it was an awesome experience in there. You have the best rooms of possible for any graduate student in India, you are served with a variety of food everyday and with perfection. We have the opportunity to choose between twin sharing and four sharing beds for the hostel room. We have a good laundry service as well in the hostel who also irons our clothes and gets them back. I should say that again that I loved the hostel at Goenka.

Alumni/Alumna

The environment at Goenka is too friendly. You just have to name them seniors but they are more like friends. Outside the class you won't be able to figure who is a junior and who is a senior. They are always helpful and welcoming. The alumni network is nice and friendly as well. You needn't fear badly for anyone or anything.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is pretty fair. We have three mid semesters, two quizzes and some assignments which count upto the internals. Then the final exams are organized strictly and even the checking is done in a fair pattern. The labs are always fun for us. Because more than the theory we loved practicals. The viva is sometimes too strict depending on the external. It was stress sometimes but not always.

Admission

Initially I had to submit the required documents like the 10th and 12th mark sheets, etc. and after the verification I have given an online exam. After the results were out I was called for a personal interview with the Director of Admissions. After clearing the interview I had to submit few more documents and then I was given the admission.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is pretty good. They not only teach us the subject and leave the class but also help us in every stage. We were also free to go and meet them and get our doubts clarified even out of the class. But again expecting the same from every teacher is not worth it. You can find a few, like very few who are not prepared for the class or who are not willing to clear doubts. But that's only a small portion and any college/university has that.

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics
